Well I was thinking of getting it, if you recall.
I got it.
It's awful.
I also picked up Fold your Hands Child, you Walk Like a Peasant by Belle and Sebastian as it was going for a ridiculously low price 2nd hand. It's alright, but nothing special. If you're Feeling Sinister wipes the floor with it.

I really think it's a good album. Didn't you even like the singles then?

Is that the album with Catch The Sun on?? Great tune :).
No no noooo, it's great! I can see why people call it dull often, but stuff like The Man Who Sold Everything is SO damn hypnotic...

My mother died when I was 5 and all I did was cry and cry

I'd rather The Man Who Sold the World, actually. And no, not the Nirvana version either. ;)
Anyway, I was being flippant - it's not "awful," but it's far from being a great album. Average at its best, really.

Such a strong word like AWFUL always comes with associations

Well, first of all you got the lyric wrong. It's "My mother died when I was 5/ And all I did was sit and cry."
And, second, yes, it's an awful lyric - but the song itself is better than anything on Lost Dull Souls.

It takes some getting into, that's all. It needs the right situation for it to really click. It's great.
And I hate to be pedantic, but 'pedantic' was not the right word there :p

No, no, It's a good album. It took me a while to get into but when heard in the right situation, it can be fantastic.

It's...okay. I was starting to get into it when I saw them live. That kinda screwed it up for me.
But if you took the best of both albums, you'd have a very good EP.

Weeeeell, he left 10 minutes after I arrived and had completely blanked him, which WAS a bit of an accident due to being distracted by other people... I also saw some guy I pulled before Xmas and also ignored, but that one was alright...he was wearing a hat! I couldn't have recognised him ;)

I'm so in love with Nirvana's version at the moment.
