Given the way the Hot 100 is compiled and the virtual lack of a singles market, it's close to impossible for a record to enter the Hot 100 at the lower reaches (say below #85 or so) on airplay alone, so most new entries and climbers at the very bottom of the chart are usually available to buy in one form or another.

I have no idea why my being a Madonna fan and gloating at Kylie's US failure is "hypocrisy." Yes, American Life flopped by Madonna's standards, but after all the promo and media hype (not to mention deluded Kylie-fan syndrome), Body Language flopping so spectacularly internationally (and doing so-so in the UK) makes American Life look like a smashing success.

Fever can be seen as a one-off, but to Kylie and her record label it's used as a launchpad for bigger things - just look at her press releases. It's obvious that Parlophone had much, much bigger things planned for Body Language.

To shift into damage-control mode so soon (starting off with her forthcoming GAY appearance) further proves what I'm saying.
