View Full Version : Peter Andre *FLUSH*
I wonder how long it'll be before Jordan jettisons him?

It is laughable, he novelty has definitely worn off now! Shouldn't be too long before the glossy magazines stop taking interest and then she dumps him...
Poor Peter. Coulda told him to watch it 6 months ago... :(

Hopefully 'FLUSH',but he's still done better than I expected.
I thought he'd only score with 'Mysterious Girl',but 2 other top20 hits isn't that bad and he went up from 19 in the midweeks to 14 now.
I DO hope no one will give Jordan a record deal.

Really though, considering the single is quite possibly the blandest moment of pop recently I'm surprised it managed to make it so high.
Oh are we flushing because he's at No.14? FUCKING HELL, I assumed he'd missed the top 40 or something. No.14 REALLY isn't that bad considering who we're talking about IMO.

That's what I thought! #14 is hardly flushable.

Lisa Scott Lee got flushed for less...
#6 and #11

It is when his album sold about 3 copies. I'll be surprised if he gets another single.
I'm sure no-one will be *FLUSHING* Beverley Knight when her next single enters FAR lower than No.14 will they... ;)

Her album must have sold three times as much as his. And this might boost it even more..

Yeah but it's all relative. He's done FANTASTICALLY well, considering we're talking about someone who was pretty much remembered as a joke from the 90s. I think No.14 is a good position for a 3rd single from someone like him.
I do despair of all the flushing that goes on in this place.

Beverley Knights album hasn't sold THAT badly though, and even if her new single did go in at #20 or something, it'd still probably return her alb to the top 75 for a few weeks. I doubt she's in any real danger of droppage for this project. Anyway she recoups a fair bit of money through touring, she's a very popular live act.

Is on a teeny record label who will NEVER drop her. Plus the album did sell about 50,000 over Christmas.

Well of COURSE her album has, but so what? At the end of the day you're only saying *flush* cos it's an act you don't like, when in fact he's completely OVERperformed on what most of us would have expected this time last year.
I'm sure Peter will be pleased with 3 top 15 hits in 2004 - whereas Beverley would probably be pretty disappointed with her 2nd single from the album missing the top 20 (as I expect it to) (and the album missing top 10 too if I recall correctly). This is what I mean by it's all relative.

FIFTY THOUSAND? In the universe you mean? I can't imagine 50,000 people have even HEARD of the bitch.

Which Kelly Llorrenna album are we talking about because if it was her Greatest Hits I could almost believe it, it's been £2.99 in most places since it's release and if Melanie B's album could sell 50,000 largely from the bargain bin I guess she could as well.

Melanie B did make the top30 though and where did Kelly Llorena peak again?
I can't believe she did 50K.

Erm no, I'm saying *flush* because his record company surely can't be making any profit whatsoever and the album hasn't merely underperformed, but literally gone unnoticed. Did it even make the top 50? AND his crappy "Best Of" outsold it if I'm not mistaken. Do you really think the record company will say, "well, he's done better than anyone expected, let's keep him on."? He might get another single, but if that does about the same and his album doesn't climb, he'll surely be gone...
Mel's album spent two weeks in the top 40 - I'd be surprised if Kelly's spent 2 weeks in the top 400.

I'm not saying he won't be dropped, I'm just saying... *sigh* It's just so fucking negative cheering on someone else's failure.

Kelly's album spent several weeks over the Christmas period in the lower chart where a #70 position really did sell about 10,000 copies for that week. Wouldn't surprise me if she'd sold 50k at all, though I suspect the figure's closer to 40...

#62-73 over teh Christmas fortnight, easily 15-20,000 each week, there. Another 2 weeks top 200, and 2 years in the bargain bins. Plus it went Silver, which is 60,000 shipped.
But she's just so SHIT. I feel awful that she might have sold that many copies. :( It saddens my soul. :(

Then what are you going on about we're only saying *flush* because we don't like him? But yes he IS fucking shit, Im hardly going to be in a state of grief over him being dropped!
I don't normally do the whole *flush* thing anyway or get much pleasure out of it, often because the act in question is half-decent or I'm indifferent to them...

Well I guess it was the ONLY album she sold in over 10 years of performing, so I guess I can accept she could sell 50,000, cos most people would have 4 albums or so in that time...
I do hope there are still 20,000 sitting on the shelves never to be bought...

I think the fact that somebody so old, haggard and desperate could have an enduring, if underwhelming, career is rather marvellous.
And her cover of 'Tell It To My Heart' really WAS an inspired choice, hilarious video semi-notwithstanding. Shame everything since then has been a bit shit. But give her time.....

:horny: if only he had a different face..
Although it is kind of a failure. Insania was meant to be a "garunteed" #1, it went to #3 and slipped very quickly. The album has sold H and Claire amounts and now he misses the top ten in a world where being a singles act and missing the top FIVE is a problem.

Still, Kelly Llorenna can claim to have been vocalist on a single that sold well over 500k in the UK alone, how many can claim that...
AND to have featured on more top ten singles in 2002 than any other female, I think....
It's the equivalent of booing a Big Brother evictee, good honest fun.
I HATE booing of BB contestants. I think in some cases it is not good honest fun, because depending on the contestant, I think that could seriously damage them psychologically.
Anyway, what I really find kinda sad about the *flush* threads is that in the case of someone like Peter, it was an inevitability anyway, so to declare it in a thread like this just seems kinda pointless. In the case of, for example, Gabrielle (who I'm sure received many a flush a month ago when 'Ten Years Time' missed the top 40), while not being something I'd post myself, I can understand it being posted, because the possibility of her being dropped probably didn't cross many people's minds 6 months ago... If that makes sense.
