View Full Version : I Dream feat. Frankie & Calvin - Dreaming

Is that what's it called?
Strange world when you find yourself anticipating a new single from them more than you ever did with the original S Club. But this really is shit. None of that quality pop like "Fool No More" or " New Direction", it's just rubbish really. Not surprised since that wasn't selling albums for them though. This is sort of halfway between that and the "kiddy" style "Automatic High" bollocks.
And the video is as awful as the rest. Might grow maybe and should give them a hit, even though it doesn't deserve to. Actually I wouldn't even begin to predict this..
I DO hope it does well for the simple fact they might churn out something wonderful again.

I don't think it's actually by the S Club 8. I saw somewhere that it was "Dreaming" by I Dream featuring Calvin and Frankie, which does seem shit. More dance pop less pop poop!

This isn't an S Club 8 single.
It's just two of them, Frankie and the boy thats going to be gorgeous in a couple of years..
anyway - I quite like the song, so catchy!

Are those two not in the S club anymore?
And that Calvin is gonna be such a gayer

They're still in S Club 8...I'm not entirely sure why they didn't use this for S Club 8's comeback, I assume the record company is desperate for a decent sized hit and assumes people are more likely to buy something by 2 of the members than the whole group. Can't see it myself.

How odd. I can't say I even noticed the lack of other group members in the video.
Oh well, at least it's not actually them then.

The thing is, it seems like a really odd thing to do, I'd be quite willing to bet that if 'Dreamin' does well (e.g. outperforms the 'Sundown' singles) then that would virtually spell the end of S Club 8.

The video is really quite cheap and dull, reminds me a bit of Bryan Adams/Melanie C but not in a house and with less colour. That said, I do think the song is fantastic, too poppy to do any serious damage chartwise but still lovely all the same.

This IS strange, particularly when you consider there were all those rumours about Calvin having left S Club whatever they are called now a month or so ago. I wonder if the single was billed this way as some sort of appeasement to make him stay. Not that I can see he's partcularly vital to the group.
Then when you listen to it, it's practically her song with him doing back up vocals.

The others ARE in the video. It looks like it's from a TV show or something. Do they have a series like S Club 7 did?

Lolly I think he is quite important in the group - look at him compared tothe other chaps in the group. Then again, the original S Club boys were about as useful as another hurricane in the States

I Dream is on now, first time I've seen it and I suppose in relation to Miami 7, etc. I can kind of see why S Club 8 didn't release the song as the show isn't based around them like the S Club 7 ones were.

I've had the song on all day. I know many liked their 2nd album style songs but I love this song, nothing groundbreaking which I suppose is perhaps why S Club 8 aren't doing it, but still jolly nice all the same.

The great Christopher Lloyd is in the TV show. There's one good reason to watch. Possibly the only one......

It sounds like the singles of their last album slowed down...sounds a bit wishy-washy on the 1st listen

Dear LORD. is this a GENUINE opinion?
I know you're all messing around, but isn't the boy legal now? He certainly doesn't LOOK too young... :p
And I guessed from seeing the video that the group had changed its name to I Dream permanently? Is it always gonna be with Frankie and Calvin doing lead vocals, cos FRANKLY, Calvin's voice is APPALLING.
As is the song for that matter.
'Sundown' is a fantastic pop record though/

Which one is Calvin? I don't recall any of them being fit... Maybe it's coz they're 11...

Dear LORD. is this a GENUINE opinion?
Should it not be? I do find the simplest pop songs tend to amuse me the most.
The whole issue with the group is bizarre now, as I said, S Club 8 aren't the sole stars of 'I Dream' so if this is a one off then it kind of makes sense, but at the same time surely you'd think the record company would think that if 2 members of S Club 8 are recording this song then it would be more beneficial to shove the rest of the group with it and re-launch them with the theme song as S Club 7 did with 'Bring It All Back' and 'Reach'.
Maybe the record company is thinking that people will see through the show and see it as a blatant attempt to re-launch S Club 8 so they think that by not having them do the theme tune it will get more people buying it that watch the show.
Either way, it's STILL a good tune although I think it's not where S Club 8 are headed, they're meant to have that Cathy Dennis song which I assume will be more along the lines of 'Sundown'.

It's AWFUL.
It is admittedly more an album track/b-side than anything else but as far as TV theme tunes go and for who it is I think it's lovely.

It's AWFUL. ;)
Well I still like it :p I'm sure in 2 weeks I'll have totally gotten bored of it but it's just nice to have a nice little pop tune that isn't trying to be something it isn't (Sundown) and hasn't been created to be deliberately quirky (Girls Aloud).

IT'S AWFUL.
You KNOW you want to like it!!
Like I want to swallow my own shit.
What songs will they sing TODAY? What will Calvin WEAR??? (It's a suit)
It's Christopher fucking Lloyd you know!

Is this that show of theirs? I just randomly put it on just now.
Calvin sounds gayer than gay.
This song SHOULD be absolutely SHIT.
But I'm quite enjoying it.
S Club 8 are extras in this, which is most upsetting.
