Listening to the Radio 1 top 40...

:angry: - I know it's five days after broadcasted but could they have come up with a less original choice of records to play?

I mean there were new entries on the album charts from the Counting Crows, The Coral and Air and it would have been nice to hear something from them. But do we? F*ck no! It's Black Eyed Peas 'Where is the Love', RHCP 'By the Way' and No Doubt 'Don't Speak'... all good songs but we've heard them 1000s of time before...

And in the low top 40 you don't get to hear recent interesting hits by The Delays, HIM or 2 Pac but friggin' Girls Aloud, Atomic Kitten and Victoria Beckham...

Anyway, just a rant... I can understand it if it was commercial but Radio 1's supposed to play more new music...

Bang on mate, basically Wes plays what he is told to play, if they have been in the studio like VB was, it will be played EVERY week. As for the album charts, tis well crappy, I remember the days when they used to play either the next single, or just an album track, nice little advert and stuff, to play what they play is just plain rubbish! I could well start not listening at all again if it carries on...

Its always nice to hear something fresh and new, but at the end of the day the Radio 1 Chart Show opts to play "Where is the love" and "White flag" all the time because it wants to appeal to the mainstream. But even the mainstream market can get bored with the same old songs! I don't listen anywhere near as much as I used to.
