Fantastic figure on that bottom pic as well! Is she 53 now?
Is it just me or does she look more than a little Olivia Newton-John-ish in the B&W pics?
Will there be a video for the single, by the way?
The pics are good but digital enhancement OVERLOAD!

Just out of interest, what are the rules regarding copyright of photos on the net? Are they in the public domain? I've seen those pics on three websites, so can they be used and distributed as anyone sees fit?

This pic has been ALL OVER the tabloids this morning. I think it's safe to say that promotion WON'T be a problem ;)

I was thinking in the car that she absolutely HAS to do a discoFABULOUS remix for the gay crowd. Can you IMAGINE an Almighty mix of this (if its like the "Cilla version" ?) It would go down a STORM

Even Tony Blackburn mentioned her on his Breakfast Show this morning.
If she could only get over her fear of flying and come here and promote, I really think she could have the biggest solo album of her UK career (didn't 'Wrap..' get to abour #18?). She needs to do Radio 2 interviews, Richard & Judy, Parkinson and the like.

Is the language barrier going to be a problem ? She claims she can't really speak English anymore...
But yes, doing Parky would be a WONDERFUL idea...
She HAS to promote
On a related note, have you seen this thing about how it seems possible that the Abba In Concert DVD is not going to be the complete concert at all, just the songs shown on the Japanese TV special (which I kind of realised anyway) and even then in edited format- ie, a 30 second "snippet" of "Take A Chance On Me"
NICE ! :manson:

This is what abbamail has to say about the DVD:
NOTICE TO FANS:
There has been much grumbling and discontent about the fact that "In Concert" is the 1980 "ABBA on Tour" special "repackaged with 3 bonus tracks" (as one rather unkind fan described it).
It is important to note a few things:
1. What is on this DVD is "it" - there is no more. They did not film every song in the Wembley concerts. The extra bits they may have had of shortened songs were trashed after the final edit of the special was completed.
2. No, it is not a case of Björn & Benny vetoing another release of rare footage / songs - there just isn't anything that was kept. The DVD contains the whole kit and kaboodle!
3. Universal did attempt to find additional "bits" to add to the DVD - the guru Carl Magnus Palm asked ABBAMAILers if they knew of any footage etc. that could be used from around the world. Apparently this search was unsuccessful - although it did contribute to the delay in releasing the DVD somewhat.
4. The quality of the DVD is going to be much better than the VHS released many years ago - it has all been put through the digital washing machine and has come out looking and sounding very rosy indeed.
I hope this clears up any confusion over why the DVD is the way it is.

Do you really believe all that though ? I CANNOT believe that SOMEWHERE there isnt a complete film of an Abba Concert- it just doesnt make sense...
Im really not that bothered by this now. I might wait until it hits the bargain bins...

I'm not sure about Agnetha's language barrier. My guess is that this comeback has been an awful long time in planning; Michael B. Tretow's stroke must have been 3 years ago now. The timing has obviously been meticulously planned; 30 years since Waterloo, 5th anniversary of Mamma Mia, Agnetha's birthday.
Even if her English skills have slipped somewhat, there's been plenty of time for her to brush back up on it. She could easily have released a Swedish language album had she wanted, but for whatever reason she has chosen to record in English. The intent MUST be to sell it worldwide, which will need promotion.

If only LA FRIDA could do the same
"Djupa Andetag" arrived this morning. Only played one song on the way to work but it sounds FABULOUS

Apparently Frida had been recording tracks for a new album shortly before her daughter's death, but never carried on. I don't know if it was to be in Swedish or English, but it is rumoured there was a cover of 'Wonderwall'.

Got this post off a messageboard and apparently its taken from a UK paper (no idea which one unless its in the text, as I havent read it yet)
LAST PARAGRAPH, LAST PARAGRAPH !!!!
Hi all
As stated in another post, Agnetha is all over the UK media this morning. Here is an article from one of the UK newspapers. I groaned at the first few paragraphs, which are peppered with some of the old assumptions, but have patience and read for a few new relevations!!! AND READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH!!!

"ABBA BLONDE TAKES A CHANCE ON A COMEBACK
After conquering her demons, Agnetha releases first album in 17 years
Since Abba`s glory days, Agnetha Faltskog has led a reclusive life. The band split in 1983 and after a string of unsuccessful love affairs and a second marriage, the Swedish blonde bombshell retreated to a tiny island near Stockholm.
She lives there alone and regularly receives psychiatric counselling for a number of phobias including a fear of heights, crowds, flying, driving and open spaces.
But almost two decades away from the music industry and the trappings of fame is apparently enough for the 53 year-old singer.
Agnetha is releasing her first album for 17 years - accompanied by a sultry new image. Called `My Colouring Book`, the CD features 14 covers of her `favourite and most inspirational` artists and will be released in April on Warner Music.
She will also release a single, If I Thought You`d Ever Change Your Mind, which was originally a hit for Cilla Black in 1969.
The comeback coincides with the 30th anniversary of Abba`s victory at the Eurovision Song Contest in April 1974. Their performance of Waterloo sparked a career which spanned most of the next decade.
Abba sold 350 million albums worldwide and, at one point, became Sweden`s most successful export after Volvo. In the UK alone, they had 23 hits - including eight number ones - between 1974 and 1983.
A Warner spokesman said: "Agnetha`s new CD will be one of our biggest releases this year. Last year, she decided she was ready to do an album of covers and we were delighted to release it It`s a big deal for us because she`s a megastar - a name that everyone knows. She has such a distinctive voice that you know who is singing immediately. It really harks back to the days of Abba and will, hopefully, be a big success."
Warner released Miss Faltskog`s last solo album, Stand Alone (sic), in 1987. It did not do well but her record label blamed lack of prromotion.
Money is believed to be one reason behind Agnetha`s decision to return to the spotlight. Although her personal fortune after leaving the band thought to be £4million, figures recently released in Sweden suggest she made just £30,000 in 2002.
Agnetha split from her first husbnad, Abba`s Bjorn Ulvaeus, in 1981, after having two children, Linda, now 31 and Christian, now 25.
Her reclusive behaviour looks like changing with her new album`s release.
A record industry source said: "Agnetha has so far agreed to conduct interviews to promote this CD. An interview with Michael Parkinson has already been confirmed".
