View Full Version : My Top 10 WORST songs... EVER!
Just to be that LITTLE bit different...
Special mentions to Evanescence - Bring Me To Life and Lauryn Hill - Ex-Factor, both of which came close but no cigar. Doubtless I've forgotten some, but never mind.

I've never liked it. I've never got the fuss about them full stop. Everything I've heard has been rotten, but because this is held up as some sort of 'classic' it gets the nod.
There better not be anything I like lots...

Already this is the WORST countdown EVER!
Frankly, as soon as Lauryn Hill was mentioned this lost ALL credibility....

He's useless. Everything he's done has been sub-music. Even the Kumars couldn't rescue Spirit In The Sky. This was just excreable - did we REALLY need another version of this, when with each release it got less bearable?
I'd have gone for his DIRE, UNFORGIVEABLE cover of Suspicious Minds, but oh well.
Well, OK, Credibility SLIGHTLY restored.....

Aah, the Fugees. Whilst the Killing Me Softly thing was alright (before you couldn't escape it and the thought of another 'one time' made you feel physically ill), this didn't do anything: it sounded wrong in every way.

Well THAT just says it ALL......you REALLY need to assess your "taste" in music....

Well I could've gone for any of their post-Coffee And TV singles (nearly plumped for No Distance Left To Run), but this took the biscuit slightly more. Tune? Where? Listener thought about? NO.
I'ver actually NEVER been keen on that Fugees song and i've ALWAYS despised Blur, so it's a case of so far notasbadasithought
But STILL... EX-FACTOR?????

There's nothing more to say about them really. If someone marketed bottles of shit 'Westlife' would be a fine name. Whilst a couple of the upbeat ones (especially World Of Our Own) have been tolerable, this is the worst of the ballads - sickly, overdone, painful.

Oh it'd be about #13/#14 at the moment... :smoke:

This is where a few will be offended again... TOUGH. I've never liked the woman, and despite the Gossip Folks remix being rather good (and to a lesser extent Pass That Dutch), she's still awful. People go on about her 'pushing the boundaries etc etc', but it doesn't excuse tripe like this. Annoying, overrated, that spitting bit in the video, UGH.
There is worse hip-hop out there than Missy, but I've never been able to stand her either.

Ever since I heard her say "I'm so fly, supa fly" on her quasi-cover of "I can't stand the rain", I've actively disliked her. It's like the Hip Hop version of Vanessa Feltz. You're HORRIBLY UGLY. Accept it, and MOVE ON...:grr:

For this I shall reprint what I said about this when I placed it at #2 in my worst songs of 2003 list:
"Well, here we go...
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!
If it wasn’t bad enough that this spent an eternity on the chart, it was compounded by Radio 1 playing it every bloody week on the chart show when there were FAR more worthy records being passed over.
Then there’s the fact that he’s not even a good rapper, and without Eminem would still be getting arrested. No-one would have given him a second glance. Hell, Vanilla Ice is a better rapper, and at least he had a good song to go with it.
There was a good song there, as 50 Pence and Beyonce showed, especially in the former’s case as he mercilessly ripped the piss out of him, and deservedly so.
He’s as manufactured as Gareth Gates – note the telling scene in the video where Eminem and Dr Dre monitor him, as if he's being ‘prepared’."

Actually I quite like him... In Da Club and the follow up (the name escapes me) were actually GOOD. And he doesn't come across badly in interviews... Haven't heard the album tho, so...

3. http://www.bavarian-beatles-store.de/Beatles%20Single%20Hey%20Jude%20Odeon%20EX%20NM.JP G
The oldest song here, and deservedly so. The Beatles are grossly overrated anyway - few good singles yes, but after 1967 it generally went horribly wrong, pretentious, etc etc - like THIS. Why it's held up as one of their finest moments (it was at #3 in that contrived all time #1's thing on Channel 4 a few years ago) is beyond me - it's inane, sub-nursery rhyme stuff. If I'd seen McCartney on his tour when he did this I'd have used it for a piss break and a trip to the bar...

Ice Ice Baby is great in context and in the right situation... :smoke:
LOL, oh dear :D I would say it is the most MASSIVELY overrated Beatles song and it escapes me why it keeps doing so well in "best song ever" polls.... but it's not a BAD song!

I should've added Michelle covering it in Pop Idol and somehow making it even WORSE had something to do with it...
