What's up with that?

market movers and potential divis act in a funny way.

Last week Heidi Klum and this week David Furnish (and in a recent week Nigel Harman) were all big risers but didn't have much in the way of divis.

Obviously not everyone plays to maximise their divis, and sometimes a big mover will gather no divis at all. I guess that makes the game a bit more entertaining, so maybe the celebdaqers have put in that extra dimension.

In reality, virtually no shares should ever be traded on a Wednesday or Thursday, since by Tuesday most of your shares will already be in high divi-earners and moving them later in the week will only get you minimal divis. Meanwhile you'd expect Friday to be the heaviest trading day, yet it's the slowest day for price moves.

Some people day trade, others hunt for divis...

I generally switch between the two.

I pick some potential divi earners on Friday.
Saturday night I start moving into day-traders.
Around Monday-Tuesday I often reinvest in divi earners.

Usually regret having sold some of my Friday purchases, which are often correct divi-earners, but I have managed to maintain a gain over 100%, usually at least 115% and sometimes get as high as 150%.
