Rubbish film! But I was thinking about that lot this afternoon seeing the even more rubbish Weekend At Bernies II on Channel 5

Yeah it was quite crap, definitely a film of its time and not in a good way

I went for Ally Sheedy. She was quite endearing in Short Circuit. Got a massive chin now though.

I'll go for Rob Lowe, based on, um, "The West Wing"

Was Christian Slater not in the Brat Pack scene? :o

Might have been, but this is just the cast of St Elmos Fire. Molly Ringwald definitely was.

Ally Sheedy - I really fancied Stephanie in Short Circuit when I was about 7 or 8 and then later in the Breakfast Club even though she was a mentalist.

Anthony Michael Hall! Molly Ringwald!

I love "St. Elmo's Fire". It's a "classic". I have it on DVD. :bad:

Anyway, I prefer "Sixteen Candles" and "Breakfast Club". Oh, and there's "Pretty In Pink" (Jon Cryer!)

Christian Slater wasn't really part of the Brat Pack, he was too young & hadn't really been in much of note yet. The Brat Pack is generally thought to consist of the 6 in this poll, plus Molly Ringwald & Anthony Michael Hall.

There's also a "possible Brat Pack" consisting of Robert Downey Jr, John Cusack, Tom Cruise, Kevin Bacon, Jami Gertz, Mary Stuart Masterson, Sean Penn, C Thomas Howell, Mare Winningham, Kiefer Sutherland, James Spader & Ralph Macchio.

St Elmo's Fire is fine, nothing wrong with it, it's nice to see stars with a bit of charisma even if it is just a relationships movie.

My top ten Brat Pack movies :

1 The Breakfast Club
2 About Last Night
3 Pretty In Pink
4 The Outsiders
5 Weird Science
6 St Elmo's Fire
7 Sixteen Candles
8 Class
9 Bestsy's Wedding
10 Oxford Blues

Ally Sheedy - I loved her in The Breakfast Club - GREAT film, and hers was the best character. I watched that movie ENDLESSLY when I was about 17!

Andrew McCarthy.

When I was about 13 I had the biggest crush ever on him. I saw one of his movies about 10 years later and realisedc that it was because he looked about 16 untilthe age of 30 so my pubescent hormones were working overtime.

He was fab in Catholic Boys; Weekend At Bernie's; St Elmo's Fire; Pretty in Pink.

Catholic Boys is a GREAT movie. I remember around 1989, BBC2 had a season of Brat Pack movies, including St Elmos Fire, The Breakfast Club, Catholic Boys and The Outsiders. It was the first time I'd seen a lot of them, and Catholic Boys and The Breakfast Club were my favourites.
