I for one can't wait, Saturday nights have been shite for far too long now. I just hope somebody better than Steve Brookstein wins it this time!

If there's another Brookstein I won't be watching for long let me tell you!

I will be analysing if there is any hotness in the potentials. If there is not. I will not watch next week.

OOOH YEAH! When's it on?
i'm going to give it a miss - i've had my fill of addictive reality tv for now with BB. i'm not ready for another one.

I'll watch the auditions, they're always the best bit. I lost interest once it got to the final rounds, purely because there was no one I liked in the last 9, and also the petty bitching that came from Louis Walsh got VERY tiresome after a while.

A poor man's FAME ACADEMY :oi:
I miss Fame Academy. The first series anyway, with the highlights shows.
The X Factor was so sub-par Pop Idol... I think the judges irritate me too much. I might watch the first couple of episodes though.

We need a new idea I think why Popstars: The Rivals did so well becaues it was a new take on the reality tv star concept.
Popstars: The Rivals did TERRIBLY. :| It was one of the lowest rated of all the music reality shows... That didn't work because the final episodes didn't have ONE winner. It took away the victory of the winner I think/.

I'd much rather see a new series of Pop Idol. Even the Michelle McManus series was better than the X Factor and Popstars: The Rivals.

I still get irked when some crap Radio 1 DJ (usually Edith Bowmont) say's Girls Aloud came from 'Pop Idol: The Rivals' or 'The Rival Pop Idols' or something just as ludicrous.
FOR FUCKS SAKE YOU DICK! IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO CAST YOUR MIND A FEW YEARS BACK!

It could just be she doesn't give a SHIT where they came from :D
and my problem with X-factor is that the 'tension' and 'arguments' seem so CONTRIVED. That and the fact that Louis Walsh is the KING of TWATS

I don't like the fact it's down to the judges to decide who goes each week. That's shit.

I agree most of the arguments seemed contrived, but my WORD Sharon Osbourne was a phenomenal actress if they were ALL contrived, particularly the way she spoke to Steve on the final night... :o She was more vicious than I've EVER seen a judge on one of these programmes...

Oh thats true, I think THAT was real, but it was like they were TRYING to look aggravated in the most part. Its like Pop Idol combined with the histrionics of TRISHA and I can live without THAT.
When is it on incidentally?

I think the X-Factor format was a definite step forward from Pop Idol, in a trash TV way of course, so yes kind of looking forward to it. It's only got one more series in it mind you, and I'd certianly have preferred not to have that Walsh twat back again.

I quite liked Sharon Osbourne before X Factor (and the Asda ads of course). The judges were all really annoying last year, and I didn't care for any of the finalists. I'll no doubt be watching again, but I'm not that hopeful for anything very interesting.
Another Pop Idol or Fame Academy would be much preferable.

X-Factor a step FORWARD???????????????????????????????????????
*sigh*
Well I did say in a trashy way. What I meant was that after 2 series of Pop Idol and god knows how many American Idols the format was resembling a flogged horse, and considerably less appealing than watching paint dry, so the new features introduced in X Factor have just about dragged it back into something vaguely worth staying awake for. That's all.

The X-Factor formula was different, but I don't think it was an improvement. I found it to be more about the judges than the acts.

Oh, I just guessed it was. I never watched the thing myself, but it gave it CLEA and JAVINE so I just imagined it was a HUGE SUCESS

That's what I'm thinking...the argument carried on out in the corridor after the audition...so I think it's even more likely!
