I LOVE the singles but only have one album and I'm not fond of most of the album tracks I have downloaded from her various releases
also a DVD version would be GRAND

Her albums are patchy as hell. The singles are very strong though and those videos are just fantastic. There must be quite an appetite for this. I wonder what's holding her back?

rumor has it we MIGHT get one after this latest CD (which hasn't done as well as expected from what I hear)
anyone know what it has sold thus far?

Well she MADE "Lose Control"
Miss E.... So Addictive is a FANTASTIC album start to finish.
I would love a Missy Greatest Hits.
But it's much more stylish to for example celebrate one's 20 years in the biz by releasing a GH. I hate it when people with about two albums like Hillary Duff put one out.
by the way, is the Cook Book worth buying?

I agree about Hilary Duff, but most acts don't actually do it that soon. I don't get why she actually, she's only had about 6 singles.

Hilary's was just to cash in on her popularity... it went #1 so I guess it worked :D
Is Hillary any good? I saw her in Conan and Oprah and she seems like a charming girl. But I've never heard her songs or seen her films.

I like some of her songs but they are just basic pop-girl songs
not sure if that's your thing
I do like her as an actress though (again it's just your basic good girl roles but she's so nice it's hard to hate her :D )
though the new teeth have put me off her some :gross:

She's a bit shit. Nice enough music, but far too dull to have much impact.
Viva la whore!

She's okay. Way overplayed in the States.. :bored: But generally preferable to rap. Ugh.
Also, it's true her new chompers are off putting.. Way too big and unnaturally white. (as seems to be the fashion, a la' Julia Roberts, Kylie, etc.) I'm thinking maybe they thought she'd grow into them. :sour: Sad how even celebrities can't seem to find a decent cosmetic dentist/surgeon with a good sense of asthetics..
Original vs. Faux (I think her original teeth suited her far better, she could have just gone with a whitening..)

I agree with this statement. Miss E was her crowning glory. The first two albums are good as well. The last three have been quite poor.

I do reckon a GH is next in line to be honest. Her last two have been handled very badly and suffered commercially
I also think most of her albums are patchy in general, but "Miss E" and "Under Construction" are fabulous albums...

If you think Missy is dull than how would you describe Dido

"This Is Not A Test" was released too quick and it was not her best album either, with a bit more quality control it could've sounded shorter and better. The promo for "This Is Not A Test" was a mess. "The Cookbook" has done ok in the US, "Lose Control" was her biggest hit since "Work It" too. In the UK she should release her videos earlier and her singles later. Usually the video premieres a week before the single is released and that's just too late.
Shame "Teary Eyed" flopped, it's one of her best singles so far.

Oops :shy:
Didn't "This is not a test" and "Under construction" have like 2 singles only released, I hate it when artists do that. Especially rap or hip hop artists which seem to do it all the fucking time

"Under Construction" had a third single in the US but there was no video and it flopped.
ah ah ah

While her singles are all FANTASTIC and BLOODY STRONG, the album tracks are quite minging!

Missy Elliott reveals new album details
She demands 'Respect'
Missy Elliott is set to release her new best of album 'Respect Me' on September 4.
The 17-track album will contain songs from all six of her records, from 1997's 'Supa Dupa Fly' to last year's 'The Cookbook'.
The album will be proceeded by the single 'We Run This', which is released on August 21.
The tracklisting is:
'Get Ur Freak On'
'Lose Control'
'4 My People' (Basement Jaxx Remix)
'We Run This'
'Work It'
'Gossip Folks'
'One Minute Man'
'I'm Really Hot'
'Pass The Dutch'
'Beep Me 911'
'The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)'
'All In My Grill'
'Hit Em Wit Da Hee'
'Hot Boys'
'Sock It To Me'
'She's A Bitch'
'Teary Eyed'
Meanwhile, Elliot's former collaborator Timbaland has been working with Justin Timberlake on his forthcoming album 'Futuresex/ Lovesounds', which is due to be released on September 11.
-------------------
Considering she really is a singles act instead of an album act, this should do really decently worldwide. Even a top 15 album is in the cards in the UK!

The lead single "Lose Control" was produced by Missy herself. "On And On" was produced by The Neptunes. Timbaland produced "Joy" and "Partytime".
