I picked this up the other day since they have had some great singles and I hate the filler tracks on the albums.
I was hoping they would shed some light on where exactly all these "#1" songs charted but that has of course been left out. :|
Beyonce having a solo song on there made me chuckle since it was supposed to be a GROUP album
The 8 vids (even though the package only says it has 7 vids on it) were a nice addition but I was a little unimpressed that the Jumpin' Jumpin' vid was left off since that was a massive hit for them. The remix vid is available on the DVD they released (The Platinum's On The Wall) but I prefer the album version vid. They also left off the vid for "Girl" which should have been on there just to complete the Destiny Fulfilled vids.
I also noticed that the remix of No No No is credited to the remix album they released and not the first album which it came from

Yeah, the "No, No No" part II remix was a different version!
You got the Dual Disc then? I wish they'd release and actual GH DVD with their 15 odd vids, as they have brilliant videos usually (Lose My Breath, Cater 2 U, Say My Name, Nasty Girl...). The album isn't doing quite as well as I'd expected though - set for 90k-odd in the US, #6 in the UK, #13 in Australia...hardly brilliant. In saying that, the new single has hardly been a great promotion source.

well I thought the original plan was to release a seperate GH DVD but I guess not
they really should though since the group is over because I want the original No No No video on DVD

I watched "Austin Powers In Goldmember" last night. I'd forgotten how CRAP she is in it. :DOh YES, she is quite dire in that. Not even REMOTELY foxy and one of the worst things in it.
Which is really saying something considering the whole film is a COMPLETE PILE OF SHITE

The only sidekick who got it right was Liz Hurley in the first one. She played the part deadly straight but with a wink so you knew she was in the on the joke too. Both Heather Graham and Beyonce both seem way too self conscious in the way they play their roles.
Check On It is quite great.

I actually like that as it plays off Austin who is supposed to be the only "knowing" one in it at the end of the day...
Viva la whore!

On that note, has anyone seen Ann Margaret in the Swinger? (kitschy 60's psychadelic film) Austin Powers seemed to be a total rip-off of the general theme in that film..

Check On It is quite great.
It's actually rather good, isn't it? As is "Stand Up For Love" despite its general hatred.
Beyonce was alright in Austin Powers, but I thought she had no real good lines. The only time anyone in our theatre laughed at any of her actual scenes/lines was when her afro popped out of the wetsuit.

It's not doing too badly at all is it.
I read on telextext that Stand Up For Love is NOT going to be their final single after all! Apparently the other new song on the GH will be the theme tune to 'The Pink Panther' and released in Feb!
They must release another song since SUFL flopped big time in the US. Funny how Beyonce's new solo song is doing better :o

I haven't heard Beyonce's solo song
When is the new single being released in the UK? It wouldn't surprise me if SUFL gets cancelled in the UK like Cater 2 U

Could the box say 7 number 1 videos because 7/8 were #1's on TRL or somthing maybe?
It looks like "Stand Up For Love" HAS indeed been cancelled which I'm FURIOUS about because it's their best ballad to date IMO. I think both "SUFL" and "Cater 2 U" could both have been top 20 hits at least... oh well! :(
I heard about "Check On It" being the next single in January... there's a promo for it on ebay already, although it's under Destiny's Child, when it's Beyonce's song!

Yeah, "Check On It" debuted in America this week.
Annoying how they've cancelled two singles - with a vid, you may as well release them even if they do only go top 20.

Exactly. Really annoying.
It seems this is happening a fair bit now...
they deserve it for releasing such vomit inducing songs
Goldmember was good, but I preferred the original. There were a few too many toilet jokes in Goldmember. I didn't have any problems with Beyonce's acting, but then again, it's a comedy and not some period drama.

She's starting to take her success for granted, that Beyonce...
Beyonce Knowles is truly one of a kind. She says she's hoping that her latest release isn't another number 1 smash. The sexy singer and actress has said she's changed the focus of her music career because there is no longer a challenge for her to reach the top of the charts. "What's really hard is not trying to be No. 1 because I've had a lot of number 1 singles," said the 24 year old star. "I would much rather do a timeless album than another No. 1 album. It's important that I grow!"

BEYONCE EXTENDS NO. 1 REIGN ON BILLBOARD: Beyonce says song began as “a joke.”
Beyonce’s latest single “Check on It,” from upcoming “Pink Panther” soundtrack, keeps its seat atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for a second straight week. The track also stays atop the Pop 100 chart and moves up 5-3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The Houston native can’t believe the track is so popular, considering it was originally written as a joke. She explains to EUR, “I got a really bad track from a producer and I couldn’t write anything to it so we started playing around and started saying ‘check on it’ and I remembered it. And when they said they wanted something for the movie, I thought well, even though it’s silly, it’s fun. And this movie is a comedy; it’s all about fun. “So I finished writing it and put the ‘Pink Panther’ theme music in the beginning and shot the video wearing pink throughout the whole video, and it became a No. 1 song.”
Meanwhile, it was announced Thursday that Beyonce and her former Destiny’s Child sisters Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will come together to present a Grammy award during the Feb. 8 ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Although the mini-reunion gives Beyonce another chance to see her old band members, the singer/actress says she’s gotten used to flying solo. “I do like it because now I’m able to commit six months to something without feeling guilty because other people’s lives are affected by my life,” she says. “Even though it’s very scary and it’s harder to make decisions by myself and I have to really kind of listen to my instincts a lot more, it’s cool.”
