Missy's ON & ON clearly leads the pack.

Snoop Dogg's Signs, Lil' Kim's Lighters Up, Amerie's 1 Thing, Ciara's Oh and Kanye's Gold Digger are not far behind.

On an even POPPIER NOTE, I am rather partial to Switch and Don't Phunk With My Heart.

I LOVE "Don't Phunk With My Heart".

It's been a slow year for the BLACKIES chez VoR. Off the top of my head i've liked that, Nasty Girl by NAA Inaya Day, and Diamonds From Sierra Leone by Kanya West

Alicia Keys's unplugged Love It Or Leave It Alone/Jam Rock is worth some acclaim

Oh I know it's an ancient song re-issued this year, but I do adore "Lover" by Notable African and general icon of beauty and femininity Rachel McFarlane

And how could I forget the most notable song of the year: It's Like That featuring 50 Cent, JD and Fatman Scoop

And seeing as VoR has turned this into a general BLACKIES thread, I must throw my obligatory shout out to the Freemason's Radio Edit of Faith Evans's Mesmerized. Not particularly NOTABLE in its Moopy sense, but VERY VERY NOTABLE in other ways.

If anything by Ciara is going in there it's '1,2 Step'

Loufoque

1 2 Step is one of the most TUNELESS PIECES OF CRAP I've heard all year

Oh on the other hand is TUNEFUL. Plus Ludacris never goes amiss for a notable fan such as I.

I quite like Candy Shop. It seemed to be the only thing playing in France in March and April. I came to rather like it.

It was only started yesterday

Anyway, I've really got into more and more r&b this year. Ciara has been good, especially "Oh" as I bored majorly of the first two singles.

J Lo had a decent album despite its flop, and "Get Right" was great :D Amerie was decent, too. Mariah obviously. "Lose Control" was brilliant, especially as I usually don't like Missy.

Rihanna is definitely one of 2005's best as well. The two singles were great and the album is good.

Oh yes - and "Karma" is the best Alicia Keys song ever :D

Amerie – 1 Thing
Pussycat Dolls – Don’t cha
Ciara - Oh
Faith Evans - Mesmerized
Mariah Carey – Stay the night
Mariah Ft Snoop - Say Something
Ashanti - Only You
Estelle - Go Gone
Toni Braxton - Please

On an even POPPIER NOTE, I am rather partial to Switch and Don't Phunk With My Heart.I agree with all those apart from Switch & Lighters Up (which I've never heard)

Also Ciara & Missy Elliot/1, 2 Step, Mariah/It's Like That & Say Something, Ashanti/Only You, J-Lo/Get Right, I really like that song that Missy Elliot did with Tweet which surprisingly only made about #54

I'm sure there's loads I've missed out

HOLLABACK GIRL. Just as notable as rest of the turdy american charts. And Pharrell makes it even BETA.

I think she was but was she credited? I often think Tweet is doing backing vocals on Missy songs but then in the credits it's Missy singing it all
