I would happily see her do Lauren, Gran and Bernie and NO-ONE ELSE every week though cos she has a habit of having some FABULOUS characters and some utter SHIT.

I love them all, though the Grannie can grate a bit sometimes.

My favorites are when she does the useless woman working at the Information Point in the shopping mall and the detective

Oh I thought that was fantastic! Some genuine Laugh Out Loud moments. So much funnier than Little Britain.

"Director!? You couldn't direct PISS into a BUCKET" :D

That was EASILY the best episode of Catherine Tate I've EVER seen... she's perfected each and every character. Derek, who I usually find annoying, was HILARIOUS. Margaret, who I can't usually BEAR, was really funny, especially with the bathroom twist. :D And I LOVED Lauren. 'Er... Do you manage Will Young? Do you though? Who's Alex Parks? I ain't even bothered though cos you're not Simon Cowell'. :D

She's been saying she might not do a 3rd series, but really that would be a CRIME, because she's getting better and better all the time...

Did she do Information woman in the 2nd series? Cos I only remember her doing it in one episode of the 1st, and I think she was brilliant.

'Excuse me, I've lost my mother'. 'Oh I'm SORRY, sometimes it just CREEPS up on you DOESN'T it'...

The party scene where she mistook the guy's curly hair for a hat was just hysterical, wasn't it?

Wasn't it?

Well it certainly made ME laugh, throughout... Maybe it DOESN'T get better in terms of writing, but it gets better the more you've seen the characters... Like the scene in the bathroom - that was HYSTERICAL for me, but only because I've got so SICK of Margaret over the episodes, to see a twist in the 'plot' like that both surprised me and amused me.

The "Guess what..." woman in the office is the same every fucking time, isn't she? Oh how I DO shit myself laughing when, in the third sketch, the other woman guesses really quickly.

I know repetition is sort-of the POINT but still. STONY FACES ALL ROUND chez DUB for most of it.

I kinda get the impression you've watched A LOT of this programme that you find UTTERLY unfunny...

And honestly... chez Dub? PLEASE...

Well actually I HAVE indeed watched quite a few episodes, and I'm not saying I never find any of it amusing BUT I do agree with the common opinion that she's a gifted comic actress with often sub-par material.

I must admit, I SOMETIMES think the same - but I honestly thought tonight's episode was Tate at her best in nearly every sketch.

Well of tonight's show, I liked Derek, Lauren and the bits of the Nurse one I saw before I was beckoned away. So not bad going. Was the farting posh woman in it? Now SHE'S shite.

The farting posh woman is SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT. No she wasn't in it.

The people that won't eat ethnic food were in it and they were the worst thing tonight...

Sam and Paul were in it, Gran, Lauren, Derek, Margaret (3 times), Detective woman, Party woman... I think that's it...

My mum is normally not a fan but she really did laugh a lot at Gran last night particularly at her ripping into Charlotte Church: 'Voice of an angel; liver of a wino'...

But she did say at the end: 'How does she get away with so much swearing?' :manson:

'DON'T THEY FUCKING STINK'.

BOO! Missed it! Hopefully it will be repeated on BBC3.

Lauren and the Gran are quite clearly THE BEST.

Did anyone see the Lauren / Eastenders things on Children In Need? You can watch it on the BBC site still.

Little Britain used to be better but I'm thinking that Catherine Tate has improved.

I think it's just that LB is so overexposed that it's only funny on occasion now.

I was walking down the street the other day and heard two UTTER chavs saying how HILARIOUS she was and I felt embarrassed to be a fan myself at that point...

But Little Britain is even MORE chav comedy...
