And he's still 18!

Poor bloke seems to have inhereted Henman's personality though, judging by his post-match 'celebrations'...
All I can say is God help him when Wimbledon rolls around...

His girlfriend seemed to enjoy it!

The BBC say that Murray is the fifth teenager to lift the San Jose trophy, joining John McEnroe, Stefan Edberg, Michael Chang and Andre Agassi. Of those four, only Agassi failed to go on and claim his first Grand Slam title within 12 months.
Pretty illustrious company... hope he doesn't crack under the pressure. He had a hissy fit at a post-match press conference a while back about the expectation put on him.
Id be more pleased if he wasnt such a JUMPED UP ARSEHOLE

The post-match snog was just cringe-worthy.

We just can't have sporting idols in this country can we :D
If it was the US he'd have had a small airport named after him by now

He is a bit DREARY, isn't he? Seeing him say it was the best week of his life somehow didn't look very sincere :bad: I'd hate to be there with him on a bad day.

I wonder if he's just trying to play down the hype though. It looks like a natural defence mechanism after Tim's WASHOUT career

So he's now up to 47 in the rankings with still a couple of months where he scored very few points, seeding at Wimbledon has to be a possibility!

He's got more of a killer instinct than Henman - which will serve him well.

Good tennis player, dodgy haircut.

For someone who's survived a massacre and is now mentioned as a future tennis champion he really is a DREARY CUNT

He's just a MOODY teenager.
He seems to have potential personality-wise, he seemed pretty cool last year at Wimbledon, but i think he's probably very cagey since that negative press a few weeks back.

From what I remember he had quite a dry deadpan wit...

It's the amount of presuure he'll be put under by the British TV and press, nothing to do with his age.

I prefer him a LOT to Henman, though that's hardly a major task to archieve ..

I agree. He seems a bit DOUR, but preferable to Persil boy. I only really notice that tennis exists for Wimbledon anyway.

I know. It was just a bit of fake patriotism from my side.

I really don't care as long as he wins!
I don't want to be spending another Wednesday evening during Wimbledon sat on *ahem* HENMAN HILL :manson: listening to a bunch of drunk Aussies spit obscenities about our sporting abilities and not be able to answer back

Is he still in the Munich tourney then?

Munich? Andy's playing in Memphis and his still in the tourny. Defeated Rik de Voest 7-6 (7-4) 3-6 7-5

Seems he's become just the second person this year to beat Federer.
Seems he's become just the second person this year to beat Federer.
In straight sets 7-5, 6-4 breaking Federer's two year 55 match winning streak in North America. He broke Federer's serve SEVEN times!

He beats Federer, yet he still can't get top billing on BBC Sport, top headline is England beat a team that couldn't qualify for the World Cup in a friendly.

So he's now going to break into the top 20 in all probability next week... as boring as he is, it's quite the achievement

I assume he won't be playing next week or he'll have a heart attack in the first round of the US Open!
Poor frail Andy Murray!

He better not draw against Agassi for the US Open. I wish I had Sky - I want to tape his final match :(

You just KNOW Agassi will get a seed in the first round!
