That's a bit strange. What's the reasoning behind this?

She's in Barcelona doing a charity event. As good as retired basically.

I read ages ago it was something to do with getting higher TV audience figures...I didn't really understand the logic. They want to make all the slams Sunday starts. Wimbledon has flatly refused.

It's quite an interesting idea tho because now more people will have the chance to see some of the top-seeded falling flat in their first round :D .. Yes, Rafael, I hope it's YOU ..

Where is Capriati these days?
Floella

Injured. She hasn't played since 2004. She's had 2 shoulder surgeries and 2 wrist surgeries. It all went a bit wrong, she was only supposed to have one.
An article/interview from today. She can't even throw a ball...

I guess the next time we'll see her is in over-35 ladies doubles when there's nothing else to watch in week 2 Wimbledon!

And obviously Sharapova ain't gonna do anything of great importance either with that injury. RIght now I'd bet on Petrova in the Ladies' tournament.

This Murray-Monfils match is HORRIFIC. It should be renamed Physically Incapable (GBR) Vs Mentally Retarded (FRA).
