When you click on "add new file" or "add new track" and it's a wma, iTunes should in theory offer to convert it for you...

Don't know if this is any help but i was bored. I'm no expert at itunes but this is what i did:
It wanted to change my files to AAC's so i went to Edit - Preferences and changed the import using to MP3

Then went File - Add file to library

It asks if you want to convert the files

Click convert and it does it

And thats it..
