Returns to our screens in just under 2 weeks time, if i'm not mistaken. To be televised from the debating chamber at County Hall of all places. Same format, but no Cat Deeley. She's to good for charity these days or so i hear. Patrick Keilty and Claudia Winkleman take on hosting duties. A much better choice than the dreadful Fearne Cotton at least.

Anyway. As much as these celebrity singing contests have been flogged to DEATH since CFA first appeared 4 years ago - this is still the best of the bunch!

Should have the list of contestants next week.

Cat is presenting 'You're The One That I Want' for ITV though, isn't she? Don't think that starts for a while though.

Now I don't DISLIKE her, but her success in the US really is rather puzzling.

I just applied for tickets this afternoon.

I was there 2 years ago. Stood directly behind Richard Park and Lenny Henry. We were treated like cattle that night, but it improved as the night went on.

Richard Park, Lesley Garrett and Craig Revel-Horwood judging again, by the way.

Ahh... I think I only read a headline on digitalspy. That would make more sense.

By GOD she must be one of the top presenters of that type in the US now

Cowell nicked it for the ITV. BBC produce the American version.

Are her "segments" for American Idol that you see over here seen in the USA as well ?

And yes, she has done amazingly well for herself and, as you said, I don't dislike her, but it ABSOLUTELY baffles me

Oh really ?

I thought it was just the same as "...Maria"

The BBC launch 'Any Dream Will Do' as the official follow-up to Maria in the spring. ITV will probably win that battle with the Grease show.

Cat is ok on 'So you think you can dance' but no more, plus she seems very odd being all brummy on it

The segments on AI are annoying

It seems that Denise Van Outen is hosting the US 'You're The One That I Want'.

Not that it was TV, but she was GREAT in the reworked 'Tell Me On A Sunday'.

I suspect the pre-live bits for 'So You Think You Can Dance' are in full swing now, so I'd guess that's why FA is Catless!

Excellent. It's HIGH TIME Claudia was promoted.

Something needs to be DONE about Tess Daly before the next Strictly.

Y'know I was wondering if this was gonna be on again. Cool.. I hate Comic Relief but at least this is worth watching. Will TRISHA PENROSE be on it this time? Betcha it's more actors who've sung before.

I would say almost certainly not, they already have their own Ryan Seacrest.. she seems to be on it to "translate" for the UK audience :daf: As if we needed that since it's been shown for years. She does present the Idol-alike So You Think You Can Dance which also has AI producer Nigel Lythgoe on it as a judge, so that explains why she's there.

I'm sure the bits she did on the first audition shows were just for ITV (usually explaining where the cities were and taking the piss out of Americans) but she is actually interviewing the contestants now... is THAT just for ITV? Are we getting a totally different show?

loomer

Think so yeah.. she would interview them in place of Ryan, or just do additional stuff to pad it out - why would they need her? She's not listed in the Imdb credits.

Good, Claudia is 10 times better than Miss Deeley anyway.
