Anyone ever reformatted their iPod ?

And is it a good idea ? My click wheel seems to be going quite slowly and sometimes it takes a good few seconds to start playing a song- I think its cause its nearly full and everything is kind of split (as a computer would do...thats why you defrag it...Oh im SO technical)

Anyway, is there much HARM ?

i reformatted mine once, and it solved the problem. i didn't lose any music, and it's worked fine ever since!

Does windows pick it up as an extra disk drive? Maybe you could run windows defragmenter on it?

It does...but isnt it just easier to reformat ?

Im going to do it at the weekend I think. Im having a clearout of my iPod and adding lots of random songs I want so I shall do it after that
