...starts tonight.

There are some free clips and photos on http://www.tv4.se/idol.

Now, I'm half hoping that the BEST & MOST GORGEOUS singer gets voted out in time for the MF 2008 (Song For Europe, Sweden)...

These first few episodes are normally just there for the GLEE factor, hoping that the G-factor will ensue...

*worries*

I'll point you in the right direction if there are such gems as Ola, Danny or Agnes in this year's lot.

Watch this space...

I reckon THAT ^^^ will go through, but there are a couple of better entries even at this early stage...

To be continued.

it seems NOT winning this is the way to go! Poor Daniel Lindström!

What happened to Agnes?

Was covering that Clea track the final nail? :D

Wasn't she disqualified from this years MF, allowing Mans in?

yes she was

It still scares me that Cara Mia wasn't in the original lineup.

Indeed!

And there are LOADS of no-winners thus far, let me tell you...

I can't even post ONE that I liked out of tonight's lot...

And that says something, as I'm normally a bit of a LINK-ADDICT...

Well, this fact COULD be construed into making that heat sounding extraordinarily HOT. There "were better songs" than "Cara Mia"? Wow!

However, any Swede would certainly by now vouch that "Cara Mia" needs to be destroyed in its entirety. It has been played - more or less - every hour for about 3½ months, and wasps are more welcome in our ears at this stage...

it was used to advertise about 3 different compilation albums AND the Rix FM music festival , meaning that you actually could not watch ANY TV show without sitting through 'come closer cara cara mia' whilst I was there a month ago...

Poor brave Swedes.

Luckily I never get tired of something through overplay.

If I compare 2007 to 2004 Swedish Idol, this year's lot can't hold a candle to them:

SWE IDOL 2004 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcElL37PFJE)

I'm particularly fond of Cornelia - she's the third entry in this clip!

Her version of "New World" was sheer brilliance.

Poor brave Swedes.

Luckily I never get tired of something through overplay.

I hear you!

But surely Bryan Adams "Everything I Do", or Wet Wet Wet "Love Is All Around" must have GNAWED at you going into week 9 or 10 at #1?

David
06-09-2007, 10:16 PM
Given that I never liked them to begin with, I couldn't really get sick of them now could I?

Pemel
06-09-2007, 10:21 PM
But surely this is the standard text book definition of "getting sick of"; i.e. something you didn't like to start with, yet it being forced upon you, time and time again?

David
06-09-2007, 10:24 PM
Not really, I don't listen to the radio and if they came on music telly I just switched over.

If you really don't want to hear something it's easily avoided.

What?

You mean to tell me that this method works on Sakis, "Shake It", as well?

FUCK!!!

Pemel

Well, not much in terms of QUALITY thus far.

I still like the "Unchained Melody" clip, though...

Amanda (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=162085&itemId=&treeId=30238&displayTreeId=) has also stuck in my eardrums for some reason; I likes!!...

Now, tonight, it's time for the Stockholm lot, so I'm DESPERATELY hoping that the talent - in all its connotations - will appear.

Pemel

Don't get me wrong; I do love the winner of BGT; Paul Potts.

He deserves all the success he's getting.

YET; as an opera novice, I will never forget when I first met my best mate, Sue - she's simply lovely; and when she found out I was from Sweden, she exclaimed; "OMG, you're from the same country as Jussi!"

That threw me a bit. Since then, I sort of realised he's rather GLORIOUS and indeed OUTSTANDING;

Now, back to business; Idol 2007; it is early days yet, but I quite fancy this version out of an average bunch:

Release Me, Björn (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=125641&itemId=&treeId=30235&displayTreeId=)

My problem, when viewing these sort of things, is that they half win me over with a good song selection; it should all be about their vocals and presence in a complete World.

Pemel
19-09-2007, 11:57 PM
Right!

Things are starting to take shape now. The number of candidates are down to 55 (out of 9,000)…

What I picked up on thus far:

Patrizia (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=160226&itemId=&treeId=302401&displayTreeId=) Cool and a pleasant nasal quality.

Tamela (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=160491&itemId=&treeId=30238&displayTreeId=) Gorgeous girl with vocal cords to match.

Särla (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=160458&itemId=&treeId=302401&displayTreeId=) She did much better on tonight’s show (not yet released online).

Robert (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=161237&itemId=&treeId=302405&displayTreeId=) Lovely raspy voice with a genuine feeling.

Sam (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=162433&itemId=&treeId=302403&displayTreeId=) An early jury favourite, and I can’t really blame them…

Rebecka (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=162770&itemId=&treeId=302404&displayTreeId=) She kind of grabs my attention, for some reason.

The show has certainly picked up in quality now, which will be obvious when I post some select entries from tonight’s show, as soon as they’re available – heaps better than the above initial auditions

O Sweet Lord, I'm talking to myself here.

However; for any one half interested, the potential Idols have been watered down from 55 to 30 now.

The 55 contestants had to team up in 3s or 4s, and then try to make the GROUP work, as well as standing out as a solo artist at the same time. No easy task, but this little number blew my socks off:

Group audition 3 (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=164077&itemId=&treeId=30246&displayTreeId=)

Revelation: Somehow I've managed to overlook the talent of the blonde (Marie Picasso) in this clip, so far. No more!

Edit: I think this is possibly the best effort ever in the (four-year) history of the Swedish Idol competition. I simply can't get enough of it.

ALSO RAN, though; Robert Kragh, Alexander Kontantolos, Andreas Sjöberg - If you leave me now. ANDREAS being IMPERIAL knowledge - his problem is that he overshines the rest, without wanting to - he's a sweetie!

Please explore the clips; most acts are pretty FAB!

Pemel
21-09-2007, 02:42 AM
NOW, then!

Andreas Sjöberg SHOULD win this entire competition hands down. He'll be our new male Carola. He's continuously spot on, never failing to hit the right notes, and THEN trying to support the rest of them, to boot.

I'll be his first fan!

YAY!!

Thanks for this feedback, *Slav*. It is rather glorious...

We're down to 15 now, and happily most of the gooduns are still in it.

Andreas (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=164384&itemId=&treeId=30238&displayTreeId=)

HOWEVER, I'm all for an all-out decider between Amanda and Marie now... If the producers know what's good for them, they will steer towards a Total CATFIGHT in the final.

SÄRLA

Excellent pipe, and a cocky look. I likes!

¤ ¤ ¤ (3 / 5)

SAM

Nice voicebox, but has no control over his nerves. Promising, but failing to deliver thus far.

¤ ¤ ¤ (3 /5)

PÄR

To be a boy band singer you need both a pleasant voice and looks to match. Neither can be found here.

¤ ¤ (2 / 5)

PATRIZIA

Similar to Särla, but a better voice and charisma will help her case.

¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ (4 / 5)

MICHEL

Yes, alright, but has failed to impress me. Feels weak.

¤ ¤ (2 /5)

MATTIAS

Like his looks, and he’s at least half decent. But where’s that Ooomph?

¤ ¤ ½ (2½ / 5)

MARIE

Disputable choice of clothes. And she cries too much. But at the end of the day, she shines, and I adore her. She WILL be loved.

¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ½ (4½ / 5)

GATHANIA

Exciting look, but for me her capacity is too limited. There were heaps of others better deserving her place in the final,

¤ ½ (1½ / 5)

EVELINA

Loads of soul, and almost American in her ways. Is that good or bad? Well, let’s see what Sweden will vote for.

¤ ¤ ¤ (3 / 5)

CHRISTOFFER

I just cannot get his greatness. Not sure why. He just enters my ears, and I cuss the fact that there are no guards preventing this sound pollution. Not impressed!

¤ (1 / 5)

ANASTASIA

I love the name, which has certain connotations. Not to my liking, though.

¤ ¤ (2 / 5)

DANNY K

Fab audition (Unchained Melody, which made most of us cry), but he peaked with that, and every performance after has been in proof of a steady decline. Still alright. I guess.

¤ ¤ ¤ (3 / 5)

KNUT

Seal alert!

Yep! Model looks. I am thinking BB8, and Ziggy. Probably similar in many ways. This to me is decent, but certainly not more than that!

¤ ¤ (2 / 5)

AMANDA

Completely outstanding. She was good in the qualifying rounds, and has since improved beyond FAB! I simply adore her now.

¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ (5 / 5)

NEXT ROUND is the elimination round for the gals;

I shall stick to my scoring above.

AMANDA (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=165726&itemId= &treeId=30238&displayTreeId=)

Simply classic, and a beaute.

PATRIZIA (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=165723&itemId= &treeId=30238&displayTreeId=)

Gorgeous in all its simplicity.

MARIE (http://www.tv4.se/player/categories.aspx?progId=165728&itemId= &treeId=30238&displayTreeId=)

So sweet, yet with a bite (that you won't notice, until too late).

A GIRL FOR THE WIN

Pemel: If each of the contestants were animals, what would they be?

Coming from you, I can't help feeling this is a trick question... I.e. this thread is completely irrelevant, and uninteresting. Well, that can easily be avoided, you know. I can give you an ABC-guide, if you're unsure of how to achieve this.

Still, I'm guessing your correct answer would be "bitches" or "cows", at best?

Here is my darling favourite's latest effort;

AMANDA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2R8-eUJzd4)

And of course she sailed through to the FINAL 11, commencing next week...

The remaining lot:

Amanda Jenssen
Daniel Karlsson
Patrizia Helander
Christoffer Hiding
Anastasia Roobol
Marie Picasso
Andreas Sjöberg
Sam Hagberth
Gathania Holmgren
Mattias Andréasson
Evelina Sewerin

You will see a few of these in the MF 08, no doubt.

David_5000
30-09-2007, 02:26 PM
Anastasia Roobol

She should win for her name alone.

Pemel
30-09-2007, 02:31 PM
She should win for her name alone.

Yes, there is that. And she may well do so; with this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v7zpBrvt9w) she was voted safe very early on in the proceedings.

"Roobol" MUST be better than "The artist formerly known as..." and many other construed versions..

Pemel

Not one for changing/turning (*Thatcher flashback*),

but this version really did it for me on Friday;

Mattias (http://www.tv4.se/player/idol/player.html?framed=1&pid=170133&itemId=&treeId=30238)

He'd be a lovely contender in the MF 08, in my opinion.

That blonde girl who sang 'Love Fool' needs to be put down.

Making anyone listen to that must be a human rights violation.

Pemel

WTF.

Idol being contemporary?

EVELINA (http://www.tv4.se/player/idol/player.html?framed=1&pid=171833&itemId=&treeId=30238)

Jeepers - and this was LAST Friday.
