If they ban harmless videos like Everytime, then I'll lose all my faith in MTV ..

She doesn't drown herself...she's hit on the head by a photographer, and the effects hit later when she's in the bath. She passes out...and then dies and is reincarnated. And they even go back on that a bit by showing her alive in the bath at the end..
Originally she committed suicide, but it was changed...

The original concept for her suicide was that she did get hit in the head and also you got a close up of a bottle of pills and some drink in the bathroom, then you see her entering the bath, i do believe the whole pills thing was taken out, and to make sure she isnt dead they stuck a new ending with her waking up in the bath so...yeah

nope she doesnt die which was kinda :manson: you know when the video ends with the baby? well just after that it goes into a scene where Britney emerges from the bath seemingly fine, and close to showing her tits! :disco:

so whats the point of the baby then? I assumed like ROM said....she was reincarnated...as the baby...but if she wakes up anyway.....

it was SUPPOSED to be a suicide video but i think JIVE caved at the last moment and ordered it to be changed to have that ending! It now doesnt really make sense, but as long as its a safe video :manson:

How crap!! It makes no sense at all now...NOW its just a shit video with a pretty shit song.

The "waking up" bit is just an outtake from the filming of the video, and doesn't have anything to do with the (admittedly muddled) storyline. It's really just a final shot of Britney The Star as opposed to Britney The Character, capisce?
That said, it's certainly a bets-hedging move on behalf of Jive records. Pussies.

The reason they changed it was because without MTV, Britney hardly gets any promotion because radio won't play her (hence her poor billboard positions). MTV couldn't have shown such a risky video.
I take it then in the 'original' video we'd have seen the pills and booze, Britney slipping underwater then the whole baby thing then END?

Why wont the radios play her?

Didnt they play the hell out of Toxic tho? The only reason it stopped at #9 or something was because of the USA tradition of only playing R&B/Hip Hop right now? Toxic did VERY well radio-wise for a pop single!
Yes, if the video went as planned, we would have got more blood, pills and booze and the baby end.

Britney doesn't get a lot of radio airplay here... Toxic got quite a bit but the radio has pretty much ignored her since 'Slave'
Toxic only stalled at #9 because we never got a proper single.. just an import and since our charts are based on airplay and sales it fucked her

You're talking fucking SHIT
Toxic was #1 on US Pop radio for 2 weeks, had 95 mio impressions at its peak and was #9 on the BBTop100, if this isn't a HIT I don't know ..
