Okay, well I've had virus problems for a while but have managed to get rid of most of the bad stuff, but for the past 3 days my laptop has been out of action thanks to a MEGA VIRUS which made the Virus Alert screen pop up saying Norton had found a virus but would NOT GO AWAY. And then it made the rest of my computer shit, taking half an hour to open any programme and not work properly. Last night I ran a mega virus check and scan and got rid of almost 100 detections and it seemed to be ok again, but TODAY the virus alert screen popped up again with this ONE VIRUS that I can't do anything about. I can't clean it, move it or delete it, and Norton keeps popping up saying it's found it and it's making my computer all fucked again.

It seemed to go earlier but I just KNOW that I'm gonna go home and it will be there saying HELLO and I will seriously either slash my wrists or punch somebody in the street.

How do I get rid of it if Norton won't? :(

Did you run the scan in safe mode Jivafox?

Is Norton the biggest pile of crap going anyway though? Get rid of that for starters.

Oh I had EXACTLY the same thing yesterday. Basically killed my computer!

1: Get rid of norton. Get rid of it ASAP if you're paying for it, you've been FOOLED.
2: Get all the spyware/malware shit etc going

I already had Ad-Aware but it didn't pick anything up. My boss recommended me Malwarebytes' anti malware and that kicked the fucker off my computer and all works fine again.

I use Avast for antivirus and SpybotS&D for malware and stuff. Both of them are free to download and use.

I had a virus last week. Some dirty school website that I was stealing GCSE papers from infected me. Avast flagged it up straight away so I restarted in safe mode, did a scan and it got rid for me.

Edit: I like the way Avast updates it's virus definitions every day rather than the weekly Symantec/Norton.

And it's like a little German border guard when it decides to make everything networky very complicated. Plus you have to pay to renew it so keep it till it's up for renewal and then get rid and install the free stuff. That 30 quid is better in your pocket than Symantec's.

Everyone knows all viruses are written by Norton and McAfee anyway. :D

GET RID OF NORTON!
You have to pay for it and it's an utter resource HOG.
Honestly, the amount of RETARDS i've told this to that are dying to hold on to it. It's a pile of SHIT!

Do you shout a them and/or call them retards whilst telling them to do it? I'm not surprised they ignore you.

Of course not! I certainly fucking want to though!
Fucks me right off when someone gives someone some excellent advice and they blindly ignore you!
