Let's box a wee bit dangerous - I'm talking off the top of my hairdo now - let's really go for it - EARWAX - I've never seen it tackled - it's an issue, it's health - suppose Nana Moon gets earwax - no - she finds a syringe.

I have to SAY that some of the recent dialogue/plots/acting have been CLOSE
Dot, Jim, Patrick and Yolande - are the onyl reason I watch that show now! The rest are so boring, although I quite like taht Candy floss woman, oh but really Den and Kate? :manson: Sonia and Martin? :manson:
Oh and who the fuck was Jack? I mean that really is DESPERATE - when they have these pathetic storylines, about people dying who had one freaking line in the show, I mean are we really meant to care about this guy? :manson: Oh I DEMAND Tracy the barwoman either gets a storyline OR gets a LIFE! Shes must really be smitten when she gets a line a month! :manson:

Could EastEnders REALLY face the chop? I mean, look at Crossroads, and I'm not talking about the new version they brought back. In the late 70s and early 80s that was regularly getting around 15 million viewers and then went into a downward spiral before it got axed. I know times and the way viewing habits have changed since then, but still, never say never.

Never mind, at least we can look forward to Dot's lung cancer to cheer us all up!
Taking place around the same time Gary tries to gas himself.
I really want to see how the hell they are going to bring Phil back in any beleivable way. I don't WANT him back, but I just don't see how it can be done. I know we've had Den's return, but you could at least invent some bollocks to make it vaguely possible - Phil is on the run from the police after escaping, and there's no believable way he can be cleared for that the crime, either. Even if he is, escaping from prison would result in a couple of years at least, surely.

I agree, plus Brookside once had around 10 million viewers, didn't it? Yes I know it was on Channel 4, but it slipped to around a million eventually and I don't think anyone believed it could've been axed about 4 or 5 years ago.
Eastenders would take much longer, and if its ratings plunged low enough, the BBC would have to axe it eventually as it costs too much for a start. But if it ever got to around 5 million viewers on a regular basis, they will have tried so much to save it, that it could obviously go one of two ways...
Oh well, Louise Berridge will have been axed by the end of the year I think anyway. Sorry, not axed, her "contract will have ended" and she will have made the decision to "quit" :daf:

I'm just totally flummoxed as to WHY they're so determined to keep the Ferreiras. Everyone hates them, I've yet to hear anyone say a good thing about these characters. And what do the producers decide to do instead of getting rid? They decide to "spice them up". Yeah, THAT'LL work! :daf:

You would think at least EE would be trying to keep the viewers that they still have happy. I mean clearly a large majoirty do not like the characters, so you would think they would just call it quits with them.

People who need to be CULLED-
Drippy Kate
ALL the Ferreiras (minus perhaps the girl- we'll see how her "makeover" goes first)
Lyn Slater (they are doing that anyway)
Spencer Moon
Gus' brother
Less concentration on the Watts, none of whom can really act and less Kat and Alfie too- both are good, but OVERLOAD
Develop Martin and Sonia as a HAPPY couple
Get rid of all this gangster shit, Sam Mitchell is about as hard as custard for STARTERS
Use the actors/ actresses who CAN act a bit more- Patrick and Yolande, Dot and Jim, Pat, Zoe Slater and her pikey friend, would have said Natalie if she hadnt have just left twice in a month, even IAN for fucks sake, who hasnt done anything for about 2 years. Billy Mitchell
Bring back a couple of big names if they can get em, even if its just for a short while (Ross Kemp maybe ?)
Oh to have a "Cindy back from the dead" story....Obviously wont happen (especially so soon after Den) but still...KERCHING!
