View Full Version : Casualty
Casulaty series 24 starts this week, just watched a preview *much excite*
preview here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/casualty)
LOADS of new people by the looks.
Just watched the opening two episodes of Series 24 of Casualty. What a bang to stat with!
Far too many F2s though, difficult to keep up with them all. Looks like the next episode focuses on them too, I hope this will die down soon.
Also I LOVED Ruth, she was only an F2 last year, look at the attitude on her now :D
TOTALLY loving the new series I must say. Nice to see Toby back as a fully fledged homoseuxal.
How is it that a doctor like Ruth can forget to take her pill though? :gross:

Is anyone DEAD yet? Apart from boring patients?
One of the F2's died on her first day :(

I remember when The Bill put up a full profile of a new officer on its website a couple of years back.
He died on his first episode, that made me giggle.
I'm so over Casualty :o I just don't see the point in keeping up with it when Holby City is so much more engaging

I think I must be the only person who prefers Casualty to Holby. Ironically I never watched Casualty when everyone loved it.
I really like how Ruth's life has turned round so much. When you consider that she almost killed herself 2 years ago.

I liked the homosexual establishment that made a brief appearance on tonight's Casualty. It was called Sir Loins - that's just dying to be the focus of a Harry Hill "dodgy gay club of the week" feature, surely?

Have you seen this Star? :(
Casualty's Simon MacCorkindale has terminal cancer. MacCorkindale, 57, who played Harry Harper in the BBC series Casualty, has been battling the disease for more than three years.
He and his wife, the actress Susan George, have kept his illness a secret since he was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2006.
MacCorkindale was diagnosed with the disease after complaining of stomach cramps while filming in Bristol. Initially, doctors reassured him that the cancer had been caught in time and that he could expect a full recovery following surgery to remove a section of his bowel.
But a year later, he was told that the cancer had spread to his lungs and was incurable.
"It came as a complete bombshell," he said. "It was the last thing in the world that I expected. I had gone for a routine check-up thinking everything was fine.
"The news hit me like a sledgehammer because right up to that point, I thought I had beaten bowel cancer and it was all done and dusted.
"I didn't want to make a fuss. We are very private people and wanted to deal with it on our own. We thought no one needed to know because, for the first year or so, we didn't think it was that serious."
Doctors have told MacCorkindale that he may have only three years left to live, but the actor said that he is determined to battle the disease.
He is undergoing a six-month course of chemotherapy, and is also receiving treatment using with a combination of alternative medicines including homoeopathy.
He said: "People have such a fear of the "C" words – both cancer and chemotherapy. These have a hugely negative impact. But I'm sitting here perfectly healthy.
"I don't want people to think that I'm pale, losing my hair, losing weight and on the way out. I'm not. I'm as active as I've ever been."
MacCorkindale lives with his wife at their Arabian stud farm on Exmoor. The couple recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
I read that just Friday actually, we were doing crafts with newspapers at Brownies and I saw it :o

When was the last time a Casualty wedding went through without a major calamity? Adam and Reuben?
I still remember MY Dillan getting shot when Jack and Nikki didn't get married. :(
I'm going to have to look those names up now, they're ringing bells but I can't place faces :o

I'd have handled the car situation so much better.
For a start, one of the brats could easy have carried the baby.

Jack was the Will Mellor character if that helps. He died.
Actually I think Comfort and Fin got married without incident too, that came later.

Yeah well maybe I'll put you in a situation like that and see how calm and reasonable you are.

Is that a threat?
Also, I'd like to see you try to arrange that.

I don't like the 2010 Star

Star is queen of the UK Asian Mafia, she can do anything.
Hush now, I'm grieveing. I Idn't actually read that in any of the spoilers.
ALSO, lots of little things I liked, Mr Jordan doing the cardiac bypass and then buying everyone pizzas! Ruth telling Jay the truth, the look on his face. Alongside all that the child abuse storyline. SO MUCH.
I was just looking up Turner's syndrome, I've not heard of it before, but that's quite common if that stat is right!
Turner syndrome or Ullrich-Turner syndrome (also known as "Gonadal dysgenesis"[1]:550) encompasses several conditions, of which monosomy X (absence of an entire sex chromosome) is most common. It is a chromosomal disorder in which all or part of one of the sex chromosomes is absent (unaffected humans have 46 chromosomes, of which 2 are sex chromosomes). Typical females have 2 X chromosomes, but in Turner syndrome, one of those sex chromosomes is missing or has other abnormalities. In some cases, the chromosome is missing in some cells but not others, a condition referred to as mosaicism[2] or 'Turner mosaicism'.
Occurring in 1 out of every 2500 girls, the syndrome manifests itself in a number of ways. There are characteristic physical abnormalities, such as short stature, swelling, broad chest, low hairline, low-set ears, and webbed necks.[3] Girls with Turner syndrome typically experience gonadal dysfunction (non-working ovaries), which results in amenorrhea (absence of menstrual cycle) and sterility. Concurrent health concerns are also frequently present, including congenital heart disease, hypothyroidism (reduced hormone secretion by the thyroid), diabetes, vision problems, hearing concerns, and many autoimmune diseases.[4] Finally, a specific pattern of cognitive deficits is often observed, with particular difficulties in visuospatial, mathematical, and memory areas.[5]

I can't remember seeing this Jay before. He seems a bit of an also-ran so I hope he dies soon.
Also either of the two that used to be in Coronation Street.
I've just come across Holby TV (http://www.holby.tv). It's got SO much information :o

I saw 15 minutes of this by accident and not through choice earlier and i thought it was MASSIVELY POOR. None of it seemed like a patch on Holby, especially since the last time i saw a bit of that by accident i ended up tuning in for the following 3 episodes.
Actually what's the latest with my beloved Valentine siblings? And did the fit man with the dicky ticker that the fierce Girl Valentine fancied die? I need to watch again.
Oh poor Jess :(
Adam and Jess do make a lovely couple though I've decided.
