I thought it was about time we had a thread for this.
Since early last year when Gavin Blyth took over it really has gone from strength to strength and hopefully this year it will only continue to improve.
Anyway, it's next week that we see the departure of Mark after the big Wylde/Lamb reveal. It has now been confirmed that he's going to be killed off after being murdered. I personally can't wait, should be some good quality drama.
On Monday this scored it's highest rating during Gavin Blyth's time as producer with 8.35 million. :disco:
I'm absolutely loving Emmerdale at the minute. I've only been watching since September but I've not missed an episode (:D). My favourite is Charity who I have a stupendous crush on.

Gavin Blyth complimented something i wrote a year or so back. I should really go up to Leeds and beg him for work. I'd probably just beg him to go back to Corrie though.

The rest of this weeks episodes should be fantastic! :disco:
Who does everyone else think is going to turn killer? My money is on Ryan.
Also not sure how true this is but apparently the gay storyline now featuring Aaron and Adam was intended for Ryan and Nathan originally, to have a twist on the usual brother sister incest storyline. However James Sutton turned it down due to fears of being typecast. :o
That IS interesting, although I think a storyline concerning both homos and incest might have been a bit much for some of Emmerdale's older audience to handle. :D

Oh BOO, gay incest would totally get me watching Emmerdale.
I don't have a brother so it's fine. Is this coming up murder mystery only a mystery in the sense that the audience don't know who's going to do it until they see it happen? Or will the body just be found and there'll then be a longer running whodunnit? I'm guessing the former, since Tom King was only 2 years or so ago, and EE have the Archie one which they probably knew about.

You find out on Thursday, although if it's true what Maxwell said in an interview then he's already revealed who kills him.
He claims Natasha shoots him

I did enjoy that. Although the girl who plays Maisie is HILARIOUSLY stage-school. Her constant retching and hammed up DISTRESS.
When Maisie hit the floor in that THREE STAGE COLLAPSE taking about seven bowls of fruit with her I absolutely HOWLED with laughter. But I do like her very much and that episode was all kinds of amazorama. Also Amanda Donohoe proved why she's one of the best actresses out there even if Natasha is an UTTER bitch.

Are/were the Wyldes supposed to be the new rich family after the Tates and Kings? Because they're really not very GOOD at it.

This was probably the highlight of the episode for me.

On the contrary I think they're fabulous. They've got a proper old fashioned superiority complex going on. The rich families of the past have always mingled far too much with the commoners who populate the village. Not THESE TOFFS. :disco:

But the only one who can REMOTELY act is Donohoe.
Also, because I've been out of the loop for SO LONG, does anyone really BELIEVE that Faye is Ryan's Mum? She looks like an older SISTER.

Amanda Donohoe isn't very good in this at all. When you turn from horse-fiddler to gun-weilding murderer in the space of half there's something going on.

Is she staying in it then? I presumed that like Patsy Kensit and most of the other "known" actors they get on the show, she'd be flitting off after about a year and this would lead to her departure.
She's had her contract extended another 6 months or a year as have the other Wyldes and Faye (who is the most fantastic milf - I've yet to speak to anybody who didn't think she was to die for) :disco:

I hate to say I'm quite ENJOYING this :D
though yes the bizarre Maisie breakdown was the highlight!

Faye is about 50. HIGLY PLAUSIBLE.

All caught up - just splendid. I love the Wyldes.
Still fabulous :disco: I'm absolutely loving Chas lately. I wish Olena would get the fuck on with it and tell Sam she's not partial to that sort of thing.
Not pleased by that tag.
LOVING this week, mainly because it's so Charity-centric. I demand that more girls be named silly Dingle names - Charity, Chastity, Genesis. ALL FABULOUS.

I caught the end of the show yesterday; now, I'm all for throwing a bit of realism to the wind (after all, I watch Neighbours where a character has recovered from paralysis within a week) but what is the likelihood that you could LEGALLY arrange to marry someone WITHOUT their knowledge and (what I derived from the scene) consent.
Also, the best thing about the show from the short snippet I saw was the plethora of objects they used to conceal Debbie's pregnancy. She's as big as a HOUSE!
I'm slightly tempted to dip into the Aaron-chav-gay storyline. It's like Shameless in the country.
:D
Debbie really is massive. I laughed out loud when the family were gathered around and she was holding a mile-wide garment over her upper half.
The Aaron storyline is being very impressively handled. Apparently nothing is ever going to happen with Adam (which is GOOD) and they're introducing a gay character called Jackson (he played Eli in Hollyoaks) who will help Aaron come to terms with things to some degree, but as a friend.

YES! :D
I semi-follow the Aaron/Adam loons on DS and they all seemed a bit DOWN that they weren't getting together. It makes a change really, that village has been a hotbed of homosexuality until only recently. How I miss Zoe Tate dyking it up at Home Farm, sleeping with her fiance, then the babysitter, then getting knocked up by Scott Windsor.
Let's not forget that she slept with the wife of her brother too (I think Charity was married to Chris anyway). There are constant whispers about Zoe Tate possibly coming back. IT MUST HAPPEN.

Oh I miss that FIT gay character they had a couple of years ago. He played a binman I think.

Oh he's just the type I like. Shame they axed him over that hideous queeny barman that played his 'boyfriend'.
BTW, Amanda Donohoe is fabulous in this. Oh and the woman that plays Edna lives near me and is lovely in real life :)
SHIRLEY STELFOX - does she still have luscious long blonde locks?

I saw them both in Leeds on Wednesday so the Jackson character must have started filming.
:o
I so need to move to Leeds. Where abouts do you SEE these scenes being shot? Just randomly in the middle of town?

Why is Lisa in prision?
:o
Do you watch Star?
She twatted a police officer!
I always read the soap spoilers! I know the characters. Watch very occ, only I'm not normally at home in time.
Was that gay bar actually a real gay bar? It looked quite GOOD.
