Lots of people have spotify.

It's like a radio where you get to choose what's playing.

It’s like having the worlds biggest iTunes library

It's an application you download onto your computer, then pick what you want to listen to and off you go.

If you don't want to pay, you get ads every few songs, radio style. If you cough up, the ads go away, the sound quality improves and you can put the songs on your smartphone of choice.

It's pretty damn fine, I have to say. I use it a lot.

I don't use it very much at all. It never has what i want.

I'm amazed at some of the stuff it has got - it's really eclectic. But yes, there are definitely gaps.

Do you have it on your phone Christian?

It's a good service I can say after using it for some time now and totally worth it.

Although I read that the business model of the free service is designed to crash and burn onto a massive failure wall and that they would eventually have to make it a subscription-only service soon. But until that happens I enjoy my free service.

Oh!

and I just remembered - and correct me if I'm wrong - that new users are by invitation only now and invites are available to be sent only by subscription users.

Yes I think you do need an invite in order to join.

I love it, as people have mentioned it has gaps but I find a lot of stuff to be available quickly so it is good to sample an album before you go and buy it, without resorting to illegally downloading it.

yeah, that's what I do too

I listened to the new Hot Chip album that's been getting 4 star reviews everywhere these days (thinking of buying it, as 7digital has it for only a fiver) and in the end it was not my cup of tea and decided to keep my fiver and spend it elsewhere.

Nope, I listen to too much non-commercial/brand new music that it's not up to date enough for me

Well, that's just awesome when you can't actually afford it at all.
