[Sebastian Flyte]Tori's new DVD enters the UK music video/DVD charts at number 1. She's higher than Cher and Britney Spears. Hence she is bigger than the 2 of them.[/Sebastian Flyte]
Anyway, it's a great DVD and one that's been long overdue for La Amos (her first ever) - buy it. Welcome to Sunny Florida. Comes with a free disc of unreleased material too.
:daf: and :manson: away now.

Im still on Tori mode
"To Venus and Back" at the moment
Its passing me by without too much interest I must say...

I have to be in the mood for Venus to 'get' it. Sometimes it's blah, sometimes it clicks.
"Bliss" is one of my favourite Tori songs ever. "Concertina" is a lost little gem. "Juarez" is amazing sonically - make sure it's on headphones though. "1,000 Oceans" is heartbreaking. "Spring Haze" is another hidden gem. "Josephine" is a nice little girl, to use her terms.
The rest.. erm... well..

It just blends into one for me
The live stuff is nice though

Only this arvo I was enjoying the pleasure of 'Caught A Lite Sneeze'

The live stuff - yeah. "Precious Things" and "Waitress" in particular. Extended bansheeness. The band arrangement of "Bells for Her" is great too.
Best of all is how she, er, "introduces" "Cooling":
So this little song, she's... uh, she's one of my best friends of all the songs. She just didn't wanna be on any of the records. She was supposed to be on Pele, and she told me to fuck off... etc.
:D

She's only higher than Britney because of (a) A conspiracy by the record shops (b) the anti-war leanings of (I Got That) Boom Boom (c) Tori being a flash in the pan artist who will be forgotten tomorrow.
(delete as applicable).

Im annoyed that I read the lyrics today and its "I want to kill this killing wish" rather than "I want to kill this killing WITCH" which makes no sense, but I like more...

It has a nicer ring to it, yeah.
And is her power all in her club sandwich?
She sounds seductive when she sings "sandwich."
I HATE when lyrics aren't what you think they are, and your version is better.
Like 'You Oughta Know' by Alanis. I LOVE imagining the lyrics as a gay man who's been dumped for a woman. I thought the line was "I know the version of me, is she perverted like me" etc, and it worked FAR more than the actual "An OLDER version of me"

Slip of the tongue, love? ;)
Tori on Alanis: "I just couldn't relate to that record. I hate records that have no bottom. Sonically it would make dog's ears bleed. I'm sure she's a nice person though."
A few years later they toured together.
Love you Alanis but ya ain't nuffin' compared to LA AMOS.

Poor Alanis, she will always be a second rate Tori, though I dont mind her to be honest...
I've been DEVOURINg 'Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie' since monday.
One day I'm sure i'll develop an obsession with Tori, but as yet she just doesn't click with me.

Supposed is grand. "I was Hoping" happened to me you know. :smoke:
Poofs that don't get Tori are WEIRD
I like a lot of her songs, but i couldn't sit down and listen to a collection of them, if you get what I mean.
'Unsent' & 'Joining You' really speak to me on 'Supposed'. I love them. Wierd, cos 'Unsent' so so horrendously self-indulgent a song, but I still find a lot to relate to in it.
