93???? I didn't know he was that old.
Former US President Ronald Reagan has died, aged 93, after reports in recent days that his health had taken a turn for the worse.
He had suffered from Alzheimer's disease, and had not been seen in public for several years.
He died at his home in California, according to a friend quoted anonymously by Reuters news agency.
He was US president from 1981 to 1989 and had lived longer than any other holder of the post.
Mr Reagan revealed in November 1994 that he was suffering from Alzheimer's disease, which destroys brain cells and causes memory loss.
Since then, he retreated to his home in Los Angeles, where he had been nursed by close members of his family.

I'm not shocked. It's sad the way his final years have been, so I guess it's a good release for him and his family.

Surely Thatcher has to be soon. For years every time I see something about her on TV I think it's because she's carked it.

I suppose they will wheel Thatcher out to get a statement from her. Let's see what sort of shape she's in.
I wonder what the reaction of the public/media at large will be to the death of Maggie?

I envision Media front pagery, but overwhelming Public indifference really. Certainly in the under 25's.
But of course, twas all before my time, so i don't REALLY know.

There's a real undercurrent of hatred in certain quarters for the woman... There's also a lot of love for her. Indifference I suspect will NOT be the case...

Did anyone see the National Lottery earlier one of the questions was which British prime minister had 2 seperate wotsits at prime minister thingy wotsit and the woman said she wasn't 100% sure because she was only 14 at the time and she wasn't interested in politics. :manson: How could you not remember who was the prime minister if you lived through it?

Outrageous that the news should be extended due to Reagan's death. And I shall be celebrating Thatcher's demise with Champagne.

14? Blimey. Admittedy I know bugger all about British PMs between Winston Churchill and Maggie though (maybe name-checking a couple but that's it), but I hadn't be born yet.

I wouldn't know many of the prime ministers of the last 100 years but how could you forget those who ran the country in your lifetime?

Anyway I'm glad to see the back of Reagan: my take on him is he was a likeable enough man with an endearing folksy wit and a habit of saying hilarious things - however he supported Thatcher and his economic policies did huge damage.

Dont you have ANY respect? Fucking SCREW you, you pathetic little trail of camel sick. This is a man who along with Thatcher neglected/ persecuted the minorities and poor of his nation. All he was bothered about was his crusade against Communism. And his death quite frankly came about 25 years too late. I'm fucking glad he's dead, one gormless prick less. And yes I do have respect, for people who I respect, not tossers like Reagans, I hope he BURNS.
