I've promised myself I'm going to go this year... Still, depleted fields in both, with Agassi, Gaudio, Henin-Hardenne and Clijsters all out...

As usual, I'll be keen to watch Martina and the over 40's doubles stuff.

I would care a lot more if Henman wasn't a CUNT

There was quite a good new British player at the Stella Artois thingy....

It's not so much him as the 'Come on Tim!' brigade

David

I do hope Martina wins something...

As usual GB players have done horribly in qualifying, with only Jamie Delgado making it through Round 1 of the Men's draw and all the Ladies attempting to qualify failing miserably! Mark Petchey's been slagging them off for not trying, but then, he always got wildcarded!

COME ON TIM :disco:

Which one, Marray or Flanagan, cause Flanagan won 1 game in his qualifying match, and Marray I assume is a wildcard!

I need help in getting tickets. I've never been and I say every year I'll go. What's the best/cheapest way to get in...? Is it really expensive? I don't wanna spend a weeks wages just to watch no-name A vs no-name B in a under-16s first round qualifier...

Jonathan Marray then... I was actually impressed by him, he could have won the match with a little bit of luck... and Lleyton Hewitt is FOUL!

He was interviewed on Radio 2 the other day, and he did show a bit of spark and humour, but he needs to force that through more.

I went up twice in the mid/late 90s, the first time I queued, but the next time I applied and got tickets beforehand.

I would like to go again, but unless it's with tickets I won't bother. I'm not leaving Bristol at around 4am just to queue for hours.

Lookey here... Wimbledon Ticketing (http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/about/tickets/index.html)

But if you want maximum action from good players, I reckon that the first few days on a ground pass is the best idea. The Junior and Senior events don't tend to start until about a week in...

Still HOURS of queueing though it says.... and anyday with Henman playing will increase the queues exponentially.

David

Having never done it though, I really MUST, I don't care about Henmania, I just want to see it!

The injured Justine Henin - but Myskina is the highest ranked player who's taking part in the tournament.

I had a dream last night that I was just about to finish work, then Pat Cash and Pat Rafter whisked me away for a special tour of Wimbledon. Then they ditched me when we got there, then Janet Jackson came on a stage outside "Henman Hill" to sing something and Sarah Jessica Parker ran up like a crazed fan and floored her. I can't remember anything else.

I'm going to Wimbledon on the second Tuesday, Centre Court tickets. Woop! :D

My early and probably totally wrong predictions for the quarters, with a few random big seeds I decided to knock out early:

MEN:

M.FEDERER (1) vs M.SAFIN (19)
A. Clement vs S.GROSJEAN (10)
T.HENMAN (6) vs D.NALBANDIAN (4)
S.SCHALKEN (12) vs A.RODDICK (2)

WOMEN:

S.WILLIAMS (1) vs J.CAPRIATI (7)
A.MAURESMO (4) vs S.KUZNETSOVA (8)
V.ZVONAREVA (12) vs V.WILLIAMS (3)
E.DEMENTIEVA (6)/C.RUBIN (17) vs A.MYSKINA (2)

Interesting to see Henman would potentially face Philippoussis (4th), Nalbandian (QF), Roddick (SF) and Federer (F). Toughie!

Yes, Henman Hills, Sarah Jessica Parker and Janet aswell (did she flash anything ??) ..

Oh, and Myskina to storm to victory again I hope. I somehow doubt she's gonna do as well on gras as on sand, as sand is really supportive towards her playing (good anticipation, constant playing, few mistakes) .. She'll probably play a tad too passive .

I say Capriati's gonna win it ..

I have that feeling too. Although it's probably more hope than rational thinking.

It doesn't sound right but I'd lean towards a Capriati and Venus final. To be honest, I'll be happy if Capriati and Serena both make it to the quarters. There are no other pairings that I enjoy more at the moment than a Capriati and Serena match.

I think the Janet/SJP thing came from reading Heat magazine and seeing a quote from Janet saying Sex & The City was her favourite show. I have NO idea why it was Pat Rafter & Cash in my dream. Henman Hill, God knows why.

Oooh, I predict the lovely Jennifer Capriati will win Wimbledon this year. Talking of Cappy, I've been playing with her on the Playstation 2 'Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2. You should see that Venus Williams when she wins a game point, she's so smug. The bitch. It's like the real thing, except the titties are bigger and very firm and the grunts and groans are OTT. I have yet to play with a man.

So who is likely to do well, or expected to do well?
Federer, Roddick and Hewitt, along with the Williams sisters? Any other challengers in the women or not with Henin out?
