There should be an introductionary thing to the forums somewhere. It could be as a sticky thread in this forum for instance, or when we update our script (or whatever) as a link on all forum pages - like the help menu on dot. In it could be the rules for how many posts you need to have your own avatar, and how many posts for each of the member statuses.
This will be particularly helpful for new members.
