has only been able to sell 60,000 of the 80,000 tickets available so far.
It's quite weird to see full page adverts in newspapers advertising the show long after every other Slane gig in history has sold out by this stage. I think it's likely she will cancel the show - neither she nor the promoters will earn anything from this if she can't sell out.
I think she overestimated her appeal - charging those huge prices in a country where she has never performed before after 2 badly underperforming albums was a very bad move.
Why won't they earn anything if they sell 60,000? :zombie:

Because Madonna has asked for a minimum upfront fee or a cut at the gate whichever is bigger. If she doesn't sell out (and she is still far away from that) then the cut of the gate will be small meaning the promoters would have to pay her the minimum fee. They won't want to do that if the gate receipts don't cover it. Hence cancellation gets more likely.

Well she is touring because her music hasn't earned her as much money in the past few years as it has in the past due to poor sales. But I doubt she's poor.

The prices for the Slane gig aren't "huge" at all- compared to everywhere else, ANYWAY
It will certainly close in on selling out by the end of it all.

Well seeing as you brought the subject of child slavery up I was just asking (I DON'T want people like Joey and Jack to start accusing me of bringing the subject up all the time. It's usually when other posters like you bring it up - in that case I'm more than happy to talk)

I won't commnet - but the widespread interest in the subject of child slavery tells me that perhaps I should re-ignite the "Madonna supports child slavery" campaign.
Madonna gets my FULL backing.
Child slavery is a GOOD thing as far as I'm concerned.
