Good albums in UK Top 10 = 4
Good albums in US Top 10 = 1
US is worse...![]()
Fiona Bruce hosts the event, which comes this week from Stoke-on-Trent.
I own one in each.
The US doesn't have Daniel O'Donnell, so case closed as far as I'm concerned.
It's WIERD how huge Jessica Simpson has become thanks to 'Newlyweds'. She's actually as big as Britney, for now...
I do love 'With You' though. Rolling Stone were right, her comeback is about 50% TV fame, 50% having her first hooky single in YEARS....
The UK is worse at the moment, but the Billboard 200 is shit because of their crapy rules. If an album is over 2 years old it won't go into the official chart and gets stuck in the catalogue chart.
For the record, here's the Belgiamese album top 10:
1 2 NOVASTAR ANOTHER LONELY SOUL
2 9 FLIP KOWLIER IN DE FIK
3 1 NORAH JONES FEELS LIKE HOME
4 3 MAGNUS THE BODY GAVE YOU EVERYTHING
5 4 NORAH JONES COME AWAY WITH ME
6 6 DIDO LIFE FOR RENT
7 5 SPRING SPRING
8 10 ZORNIK ONE ARMED BANDIT
9 7 EVANESCENCE FALLEN
10 8 BOUDEWIJN DE GROOT HET EILAND IN DE VERTE
Interesting fact: the act at #1 was dropped by his record company last week because he's not profitable enough!!

How is this possible? To high production costs? Too low sales?Originally posted by Andries

I don't know the exact reason really. As far as I know the album was just recorded in Belgium, with a Belgian producer and local musicians, so I can't imagine it cost THAT much to make. Promotion can't be too expensive either, the video for the lead-off single "Never Back Down" was shot in a local mall with a handycam! It IS true that a #1 album in Flanders sells about 50,000 copies at the most these days, which for a large multinational company is hardly worth the investment, and it is very rare for a Belgian act (non-dance) to cross over to other territories to recoup their money. He is signed to Warner, let's hope they won't be making any similar decisions on one Ms Fältskog in the near future...Originally posted by krist

UK albums i'd consider buying: 0
US albums i'd consider buying: 0
'bout even i reckon.
at the moment the US is better, but come the next few weeks, all them oldies in our top 10 will be out and we will reign supreme!
I have 2 from Belgium so they are winning at the moment.
