Lena Phillipson has been signed up to host the semi-finals of the Swedish Melodifestivalen in 2006.
The singer, who represented her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004, will host all of the semi finals. Her role was confirmed at a press conference in Stockholm earlier today. SVT is remaining tight lipped about who will host the grand final on 18 March.
Speaking about her new job, she said, "Nothing is yet decided about whether I will do this alone or have co-hosts, I need to sit down with SVT and discuss things and see how it pans out." She added, "I will just be myself and not try to be a traditional 'host' as such."
32 songs will compete to represent Sweden at Eurovision in 2006. SVT has already named 28, the remaining four ‘wild card’ entries will be known shortly.
The first semi final will take place in Leksand on 18 February 2006.
