grin 'Family Guy' character to host talkshow

Family Guy's Stewie is to host a new late night internet talkshow.

The spinoff, due to launch later this year, will air on the show's official website and across News Corp's online portfolio, including MySpace.

"When we bought MySpace we looked at the most popular groups and Family Guy was number one so we started kicking around ideas of how we could extend it in a unique form, not just repurposing an episode but doing something different," said Ross Levinsohn, president of Fox Interactive Media.

Family Guy was revived by FOX last year for all-new episodes following a successful run in syndication.

So Family Guy Season 4 is out on DVD

    And I'm pissed off.

WHY THE FUCK is it a cardboard box with little skinny plastic boxes for each disc inside? The box type for the Seasons 1-3 was FINE and now it's just going to look SHIT beside those.

American Dad is also out. Worth it for Roger alone, which is just as well because it's not great.

Oh and I was watching the Family Guy DVD movie today for the second time. It really is SUB-PAR.

Isn't series 3 in a cardboard box and three normal DVD cases inside? When the third is different to the first two anyway I don't really see your complaint?

It depends on how they're displayed I suppose. The Simpsons boxsets look stupid now because they're different sizes (and shapes) which can be of minor annoyance *anal*

Nope. Not in the most recently released version, which was the box of seasons 1-3.

Anyone who buys a boxset of an incomplete TV/film series going to get that though. I've never really understood why people would buy, for example, the Harry Potter Years 1-3 boxset when it's inevitable that further films (and updated boxes) will also follow.

If I was going to buy a boxset it'd either be of individual series' or a complete set - I can't be doing with a box of three and then four individuals.

    it bothers ME

I even sold the seasons and bought the box set because Season three was in a better case .. but of course then it looked like that was the end of it.

I DREAD to think what season 4's like .. i take it from your description it's like the Lost and Desperate Housewives sets?

Yah! I' hope there are good extras though cos I've seen all the episodes a gazillion times. Whats the last episode in this series?

And in all fairness, out of place DVD box sizes do annoy me too: Moreso with CDs though; i wish i had bought the plastic casing for bjorks "Medulla" instead of the paper one

CDs are mildly MIFFING, but DVD boxes are all PRETTY MUCH the same HEIGHT and all tend to fit in the SAME SPACE

Turn it around? My point was that slipcases are HATEFUL anyway *scuffed*
I'd much rather everything be in one plastic box like the other seasons (well, not 3, but the season 3 that was in the box set)

Yeah it's weird. Presumably 'Season 5' will follow with the remaining episodes... It's a bit weird how they've done it. I know the deal McFarlane did was 2 seasons or nothing so maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know. I really don't.

ANYWAY it turns out the new box fits okay beside the Seasons 1-3 box because it's the same size as the outer box of that. I might show you all a PICTURE later if there's sufficient demand.

Possibly because it works out cheaper than buying the movies one by one?

I watched the first disc last night and it's really disappointing. Still a few funny moments and still more watchable than The Simpsons but not a patch on the earlier seasons.

I'd seen most of the first two discs already so I started with Disc 3 and it's actually pleasantly surprised me. Much better than I had previously thought Season 4 was...

I've watched disc one and laughed out loud on several occasions although the episode with Meg's makeover was a bit weak.
