    disco KYLIEX2008: NEW TOUR ANNOUNCED!

    A day early:

'KYLIEX2008' IS KYLIE'S BRAND NEW TOUR FOR NEXT YEAR!

The new show will be a totally different concept to previous Minogue spectaculars, which have seen her fuse her remarkable creativity with groundbreaking technology to become one of the most respected live performers of our time.

Kylie's 2008 tour opens in Paris on May 6 and progresses throughout Europe, reaching the UK on June 26 when she plays at Belfast's Odyssey. The tour then continues with dates in Glasgow, Manchester and London, concluding at London's 02 Arena.

Tickets go on sale for UK shows on Monday December 3rd, priced at 49GBP (except Belfast), the same price as her last spectacular "Showgirl Homecoming" tour.

    Tickets are from also available from www.kylie.com (0871 230 1087) and (0870 735 5000).

Tickets are limited to 6 per household.

Kylie said today: "I am putting together a show that is going to be a new and exciting experience for both the audience and myself. The eclectic mix of sounds on 'X' is affording me an opportunity to explore and develop a new live show that will be fresh, exhilarating and innovative. After two celebratory tours, 'X' will be a look to the future but will definitely include favourites alongside the new. I can't wait to share it with you next year! See you soon!"

£49 isn't too bad at all. Is that the same price as Homecoming?

Ooh, £49. I suppose that'll be an £8 surcharge on top of that though. Still, better than most. I might wait.

Nice long gap to add more dates between Manchester and London, isn't there?

The name reminds me of KylieFever2002. Hopefully it'll be a bit like that.

Paris is actually very tempting since it's the opening date. It might be a bit harder to get tickets this time around though what with her increased profile there.

I wonder what "fresh, exhilarating and innovative" REALLY means. How innovative can you get these days without compromising a proper live show?

And is Bercy still standing on the floor? The last time I went there we arrived well after opening, and still managed to get a good position.

I BET it's just codeword for "in the round".

It's her first Bercy gig ever, isn't it?

Well bum. If it is then Im certainly not buying tickets before seeing the actual stage set-up. All that "every seat is a good seat" stuff is always bollocks.

I think so. Quite clever really, they are really capitalising on the recent success there.

Don't quote me on that, I am just guessing.

Knowing William Baker, "innovative" probably means something else entirely.

Actually now that Lolls brought it up I might also be tempted to skip London and go for one of the Euro dates, bung up a nice KYLIE weekend away type of thing..

I still think it's crazy how she is packing the dates in so closely together.

I am probably going to do Paris, one in London and I do want to see her at Glastonbury, so that too.

    I'm tempted most by Helsinki.

Plus surely if it's standing I'd be able to get a better view and stuff.. surely Finnish Kylie gays aren't as intense London Kylie gays.

I saw Aimee Mann at Indigo - I won't exaggerate when I say it really had the best acoustics for a small venue gig ever..

Oh I dunno.. I'm torn.. but I'm sure I'm most likely doing the O2, I just like to fantasise about Euro weekends away..

The tickets are usually cheaper, the fans not so intense as you say, and for anyone who has to come to London and stay a night or two anyway, it's not usually much more expensive to have a few nights away somewhere.

Rather interestingly regarding the tour, Gareth Pugh has apparently been working on an "inflatable stage" design for the best part of a year now.

Starting right at the beginning of May, though. What funky said in the other thread concerning rehearsals and stuff is true. She'll be starting on this more or less as soon as she gets back after Christmas, won't she?

Well I think you can only fly to Paris, Prague, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin direct from here. Although SAS did do Stockholm flights for summer only this year, so they may do again.

Obviously you can fly to them all. I'd prefer not to have to get the Heathrow coach, because it adds a few hours on to the journey each way for us, and just sort of feels like it's defeating the object of not seeing her in London anyway!
