oh love this - reminds me of my angsty teenage years.

what i love about nirvana that puts me off about a lot of today's guitar based bands is that nirvana had such great BASS LINES - it's not just strummy, shouty, noise. it's got bollocks.

I don't like Nirvana enough to buy albums, but I quite like most of their singles. I LOVE Heart Shaped Box.

You wouldn't think of me to have all their studio albums and the MTV Unplugged, but I do. Obviously the huge array of extras I'm not that interested in.

It's not just overrated... it's not even worth the thought of anyone in the first place

8/10. Prefer their 'Unplugged in New York' which would get 10.

Better than the bollocks, but still overrated.
"And I shall not be dark, but beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night! Fair as the Sea and the Sun and the Snow upon the Mountain! Dreadful as the Storm and the Lightning! Stronger than the foundations of the earth. All shall love me and despair!"

Sometimes good, never great... they pretty much hit the nail on the head come "In Utero", but it was too late by then for Cobain... he wasn't going to reach the creative pinnacle of his influences... commercial success means shit when you aren't making something as good as "My War" or the first Stratch Acid EP

That probably is their best. Though a bit too harrowing. In Utero is also better. But I don't understand those die hards who say Bleach is best.
