OMG I LOVE IT!
Love it or hate it?
For me it's Goldie's best movie, very funny and containing some hilarious lines.
Brenda: Let's examine the evidence. Look! all bottles and gallon jugs!
Elise: I had guests!
Brenda: Who? Guns N Roses?
Elise: You think that because I'm a movie star I don't have feelings. Well you're wrong. I'm an actress. I've got all of them!
Elise: You've always been jealous of me, even in college! Because I was blonde and beautiful, and could have any guy I wanted!
Brenda: Could and did! All the senior class and half the faculty!
Elise: It was the sixties.
And if we stay together
We'll feel the rhythm of the evening taking us up high
Never mind the weather
We'll be dancing in the street until the morning light
Not as funny as I'd hoped.
My favourite Goldie roles are in Private Benjamin and her Oscar winning turn in Cactus Flower.
Pretty good. Goldie Hawn and Bette Midler are so charismatic that even when the material isn't great they're just a joy to watch.
Overboard and Death Becomes Her are better though.![]()
Oh, and you forgot Stockard.
*throws self of skyscraper*
Oh I really enjoyed this film, but I got completely confused by the plot about two thirds through, I wasn't quite sure what the point of the First Wives Club actually was, or what they were doing to their husbands (revenge I guess).
Was the Bette Midler/Sarah Jessica Parker working together thing intentional? They worked together in (the amazing) Hocus Pocus too

Hocus Pocus is absolute brilliance. We watch it every Halloween.
As a child I was obsessed with Sarah's song.![]()
I bet the make-up budget for SJP in Hocus Pocus was ZERO!
Bleh.
Give me Looking For Mr. Goodbar as far as Keaton goes - least that has some PRIME Richard Gere - than this post-meonpausal toss.. I did like Goldie's LIPS and a post-Showgirls/Saved By The Bell LIZ BERKLEY however, and yeah.. what was SJP doing in this.
Rather average really... some nice performances but not one I'd want to see again.
Goldie Hawn gets the best line - 'In Hollywood, women have only three ages: babe, district attorney and Driving Miss Daisy!'
Fiona Bruce hosts the event, which comes this week from Stoke-on-Trent.
"You Don't Own Me" alone guarantees it an 7 minimum from me.
A normal person must
Dismiss you with disgust
And weep for those who trusted you.

Prohibition may not have been that bad a thing....
Watching it again now, LOVE LOVE LOVE it![]()

This is in my top 10 favourite films of all time.
Brenda (Bette Midler) is THE best obviously, though SJP had one good line, though it was more in the delivery. The bit in the clothes shop where she says to Brenda 'Why dont you try this on, in your size?'
A definite 10/10
'Sue, did the President call?' ... 'No' Last.fm
One of the worst things I've ever had the misfortune to watch. If I wanted to watch a bunch of menopausal women bitching about their husbands, I'd watch Loose Women.
Top up, Sue?
There's just not enough of Goldie in her cougar prime. I'm rather excited about the sequel, which got confirmed via Bette or Goldie's twitter and also the studio. Goldie can really SING.
Reflected onto the wet pavement, can you see what I see?
