What a shame moopy aren't onto this film. Not a single comment or vote apart from myself and funky! It won Best British Film at the BAFTAs and Kathy Burke won Best Actress at Cannes.
Possibly the ZENITH of gritty drama.
What an AMAZING film
As dark and as grim as British Cinema gets. Horrifying as it is depressing. But the performances are so amazing it is absolutely mesmerising to watch
Kathy Burke won the Cannes award for this, and quite right too.
If you haven't watched this, watch it now.

It gets better every time I watch it

Do it, Mats. It's pretty BLEAK but I think it's WELL WORTH IT.
Top up, Sue?
i watched it (with subtitles) and it's rather good, there were some seriously harrowing moments in there. i thought both Valerie and her mum were excellent.
Long time since I saw it. I remember liking it a lot at the time, but never have really had an interest to watch again.
