...but it's a duets album with Orup
Swedish pop stars Lena Philipsson and Orup continue develop their collaboration. It all started back in 2004 with a song for Melodifestivalen, that won the competition and Lena took Sweden to the Eurovision Song Contest with It hurts. This autumn they going to tour across Sweden and for the first time, they will release an album together as a duo. The album will be titled Dubbel
The first single from the forthcoming album is called Nu när du har gått and will be released on the 22nd of September.
The collaboration first started with a special written song to Melodifestivalen 2004. Lena won with Det gör ont and It hurts finished in joint 5th place in Eurovision Song Contest.
After that Lena and Orup did two albums together with Lena as a solo singer, Det gör ont en stund på natten men ingenting på dan 2004 and Jag ångrar ingenting 2005 that spawned hit singles like Delirium, Lena anthem, Unga pojkar & äldre män and Han jobbar i affär.
In the beginning of 2007 they joined forces for the show Lena + Orup. It was a huge success and had sold out shows in Stockholm and Goteborg, runing until May 2008. This autumn the show will go on on tour across Sweden.
Now they take their collaboration one step further, making an duet album together. This time it’s not only Orup who writes the songs, half of the songs has Philipsson also been involved with in the writing process. The album has ten songs, five of those is co-written by Lena. The producers is Peter Månsson and Anders Hansson.
"After all the fun we have had together, we could not resist to record an album together" says Lena Philipsson. The sound of the songs will feel pop and soul with the foot placed in the 60s and 70s music. The album Dubbel (Double) will be released in October.

I read this today, made me happy and sad. I have absolutely nothing against Orup, I think he's one of Sweden's finest song writers. I'd be glad if Lena continued to work with him, but she really need to record it herself. Use him for back up singing or something.
Anyway, I don't know if it's any consulation at all, but I'm writing the last things on my Lena top 25. I might start posting it tonight.

I know I was in the minority but I really liked the Orup duet on her GH. However an album's worth is not appealing IN THE SLIGHTEST.
What happened to this dance/pop album she was supposedly doing?
I wouldn't mind ONE duet on a Lena album. But an album filled with duets? No thanks.
