So, the time has come! Tomorrow at 4:30pm were getting the song titles and composers! I'm disgustingly excited!

We knew 'Hero' was Charlotte's last year and obviously BWO's due to Bard writing it! And you can guarantee if Anders Hansson & Bobby Ljunggren have written a song it's for Alcazar! They were both approached to produce a song for them!

I only request one thing, NO G:SON & BOOK collaborations under ANY circumstances!

No G:Son would do me just fine... though he'll only whore out his songs to other countries.

He threw a paddy after bombing last time so I doubt he'll enter with any more stuff, I wonder if we'll find out the new presenter tomorrow?

I'm hoping for lots of Kempe, lots of Ljungren, and yes lots of G:Son too (although I'll admit he's been a bit hit and miss recently).

After this year's fiasco I think the jury is looking for a little bit different stuff than traditional schlagers.

Sweetheart, I won't, because that's what I think. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee, schlager sound won't get Sweden anywhere but 18th place.

    I know, sad but true.

I don't think that MF will be lacking of schlager songs but I definitely think there will be less of them next year.

but '07 saw a lot less Schlager and a lot more different styles of music and it was still an 18th place at Eurovision!

Who'd have thought a retro glam-rock song would fail to do well at Eurovision?

To be entirely fair, Wig-Wam did get a top 10 a couple of years earlier.

and to be fair TOO, The Ark are a band i've seen in concert and who I genuinely think are one of the best acts of the 00s

When I saw the performance I was drunk and just really into it, and didn't realise till the day after how stale the whole thing came across

    Bad news everyone.

The promotional shot for the press conference contains a guitar.

I hope the next promo shot will be a picture of the guitar being destroyed by a gigantic swinging disco ball.

It looks a bit like a promo shot for some 'Find A Singer/Songwriter' competition on T4 or something equally as boring.

Same goes for Anna 'oh so hilarious' Book and Kikki Danielsson.

Shirley, Jessica and Mans for the VICTORY.

Entry #10 by Jennifer Brown, looks like she is taking the plunge then . She has released 3 solo albums, two of which I have and would say are quite good radio friendly female vocal pop. "Tuesday Afternoon" was released in the UK in 98 and reached the mid 50s. So hurrah Jennifer Brown.

people can leave comments as this announcement comes in, and they're all basically the same: '3440 songs, a record, and yet it's the same circle of 5 or 6 songwriters clogging up the entire list'

and with that, Thomas G:son returns

Bidrag 27: ”Welcome to my life” av Samuel Waemö och Didrik Thott.

Bidrag 28: ”Den första kyssen” av Lina Eriksson och Mollgan B:son.

It is odd- I was thinking of asking just HOW many songs PLING will get herself on this year this morning...and here we go again

Three Frederik Kempe songs, though... Though Sarah Dawn Finer can FUCK OFF

so from that, the "big" names so far to be deduced:

    Alcazar
    Mans
    Emilia
    Jennifer Brown
    BWO ( ? )
    Sarah Dawn Finer
    Caroline Af Ugglas
    Lasse Lindh
