Yes. I genuinely think it must be.
Seriously, in the past several years, I don't think I've heard anything so BRILLIANT come out of the British music scene, apart from the obvious...
Greatest pop album of the noughties? QUITE POSSIBLY
Yes. I genuinely think it must be.

I WILL GET REAL GRIMEY. I WILL START CUTTIN' UP CLOTHES.
ah the days of the Roisin thread when the album came out... poster after poster just in SHOCK at how good the album was...
and usually on first listen too!
my favourite album of 2007 and probably in my top 3 of the noughties
i only recently heard glass candy's i always say yes which overpowered was compared to back in the day
quite ace yes
the best song wasn't a single
AMAZING, I wasn't a fan of Moloko at all and didn't really take any notice of her first album but this really worked for me
If it was a fair world then 'Movie Star' would have been her cross over hit and this would have sold close to a million - it deserves it
Is she still with her record label?
I really buck the trend on this one. It's absolutely the sort of album that, on paper, I should love. All my friends do. It just leaves me cold though. I prefer the remixes. Sorry.

It's alright but it's far from the classic everyone goes on about
It's been too long, it's been too long...
Absolutely brilliant and I appreciate it even more now after seeing her live. Better than Robyn and Kylie X and I think that's cause she has such an amazing voice, whereas the other 2 sound like Minnie Mouse.
I'm sorry, but I just don't GET IT beyond like two or three songs.

Does anyone think it would have been even stronger without "Body Language" and "Parallel Lives"? That's my only misgiving. It's annoying that those were listed as "bonus tracks" as I prefer albums to be heard how they're intended, they would have made great b-sides.
I agree with everything you said there.
PL really grew on me, actually. It's not instant but I really like it now. It's actually quite clubby, like a dark disco track from the early 80s
BL I could leave. Had she swapped that for "Off & On" the album would have been even better...
both BL and PL are 10/10 songs for me, i'd probably rate every song a 10 actually
but yes, i hate the fact they're tagged as bonus tracks - either they're on the album or they're not
the best song wasn't a single
oooh, a 10 from agnetha? excellent
the best song wasn't a single
That pleases me to hear, am! Pandora's a gem as well.
I am still waiting for them to release Movie Star. I need it in my collection![]()
6/10. There are four brilliant songs - You Know Me Better, Primitive, Dear Miami and Footprints - and a load of 'alright' ones. Movie Star is so tacky that I can't believe so many Roisin fans rate it. Awful.
I gave it a 7, it's peaks are magnificent though. It's a 10/10 album when she does it live - she made me really enjoy the tracks I'm quite happy to skip on cd.
i have that if you need it, looms
the question is what happened to the slave for love video we were supposed to get?
the best song wasn't a single
Is that the one used in the live shows? It's amazing.
yes, albeit a bit modified, the original kid gloves remix is about 10 mins
and yes, that was the high point of the live show for me
the best song wasn't a single
"Unfortunately" I attended her second concert of the entire tour so I didn't get to experience that live (actually I missed out on a lot, I would've loved to see the Moloko tracks)
I've got the other Movie Star remixes if anyone needs them.

We get to play our own CDs where I work and I often slip on Overpowered. It is quite nice when people ask WHAT IS THIS IT IS GOOD.
I like to think I may have contributed at least 5 or 6 sales/illegal downloads to the Roisin course because of this.
Lykke Li is also very popular with the public, as is - slightly bizarrely - the second Electrelane album.
You can't ignore my techno

Handsome Boy Modelling School collaboration, its REALLY GOOD. She didn't do it at the Brixton gig annoyingly, apparently she does the rap and everythink live.

'Sue, did the President call?' ... 'No' Last.fm
I've been playing this quite a lot lately and have realise it's actually SO MUCH BETTER than I had ever given it credit for.
09 Overpowered
11 You Know Me Better - best electropop song EVER
07 Checkin' On Me - filler although the melodic middle 8 is absolutely gorgeous
10 Let Me Know

10 Primitive
09 Footprints
10 Dear Miami - STRICTLY ROLLING VIP
08 Cry Baby

Properly fantastic.
It's not as good as "Ruby Blue" or "Statues." But STILL:
