Please let me know what happens![]()
How ODD
ANYWAY, Jermaine's MJ tribute that was postponed until 2010 has now been cancelled![]()

Always a complete fuck up that man so this was predictable as ever.
I only wonder what they'll say tomorrow n the live final of Move Like Michael Jackson where they're competing for a slot to perform at the non existent show.
MICHAEL JACKSON: The King of Pop reclaimed his crown after his death, towering over the year in music. The surreal saga began in March, when Jackson, mired in debt, accepted AEG Live’s proposal that he perform 50 shows at London’s O2 Arena, as handicappers placed odds on how many of the shows he’d actually do, or whether he’d show up at all. These questions continued during the ensuing weeks of elaborate rehearsals, right up to the afternoon of June 25, with the shocking news of Jackson’s death. This incomprehensible event led to a litany of names in the news: Dr. Conrad Murray, M.J.’s extremely well paid personal physician, who’d allegedly administered the fatal dose of Propofol. Frank DiLeo, who’d managed Michael during the glory years, brought back by AEG in hopes that this old hand could bring a modicum of stability to the potentially volatile situation. AEG Live head Randy Phillips, whose grandstanding, combined with a long-standing credibility problem, led to his becoming a target of media ridicule, making him the most disrespected executive of 2009. Jackson’s parents and siblings, not all of whom were on the same page in their attitudes toward how to approach Michael’s legacy and the anticipated mega-windfall. Estate co-executors John Branca and John McClain, who found themselves in a crossfire between the family’s interests and those of the heirs, as they took on the daunting mission of honoring Michael’s memory and doing right by his offspring. And Columbia/Epic chief Rob Stringer, who suddenly faced a huge global demand for Jackson music, while at the same time contemplating how to deal both honorably and practically with some extremely sensitive issues. Now, in the less than six months since his death, Jackson albums have collectively sold nearly 7 million albums in the U.S. alone, the vast majority physical units—both staggering achievements in this day and age—while the This Is It documentary has far surpassed the box office of any previous musical film, with the upcoming DVD all but certain to shatter more records when it’s released in late January. Posthumously, Jackson has reminded us of the golden age of the music business, an era driven by superstars…and he may well turn out to be the last of them. Certainly, no other act is capable of selling an astonishing 29 million albums worldwide in less than a half year.

I happened to catch a bit of what I assume was a repeat of the final of this show when I came in last night. Reggie was still spouting on about this being the BIG PRIZE though which really is quite amusing in light of that news!
Did you watch the final Ellie because I switched off before seeing who won?
I watched it. I'm really glad I did because I was going to skip it altogether thinking it was going to be some dire thing with bad impersonators. I thought a LOT of the dancers were great and the 2 finalists were amazing. Really inspired by MJ instead of just copycats and they played some different MJ songs instead of the usual boring ones for once.
Yeah, they glossed over the cancellation. I suspect there will be a proper tribute sometime next year, but if Jermaine can keep his grubby hands out of the pot then one should actually happen.
These guys won - rehearsal footage as I can't find the show footage:
That other group 'Plague' had actually done their homework and started doing parts of Jacksons routines from the 70s variety show!!

Cheers for the info on that Ellie. I only saw the two finalists dance their 'non-Michael Jackson song' dances and thought both were really impressive. I LOVED the other group's Daft Punk performance but The Animaineax's looked great as well so seems like the show managed to unearth some really good talent there anyway.
Definitely. I thought some of the acts were WAY better than those ones you get on the US shows like 'America's Best Dance Crew'.
Plague did one to Jam and Animaineax did a feckin' awesome routine for Rock With You.
It's up on iPlayer now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...Jackson_Final/

Oh, the Animaineax one starts at 26:00 into the show there. See them do a subtle nod to that flappy penguin thing MJ did during Human Nature in 'This Is It'![]()
MJ night on Five tonight - the "last days of" documentary, the 2001 MSG gig and one other programme I forget.
MOTIV8 VOCAL SLAM
I think I'll skip that lot then
And BLAH to showing MSG 2001. It's been 6 months. Get the rights to something GOOD for once.

Random question: Is there a demo recording in circulation of Siedah Garrett doing Man In The Mirror? Or was it given straight to MJ?
No demo version that I know of, but Siedah recorded it herself in 2003 for her self titled solo album. I can put it up Janet's huge vagina shute if you like.

Please...
Done, Good luck pulling it out of that black hole.
I missed MJ night on Channel 5 last night, but it's MJ night on BBC 2 tonight. They've got a discussion on The Culture Show - not sure I will be able to hack that, the 1992 Bucharest concert (again not the best show but better than MSG 2001) and a TOTP2 special.
I watched the 30th anniversary show on C5 last night...never saw it properly before
The NERD inside me found it fascinating to watch him blatantly give a hand signal up to the producer or whatever when he was miming to turn the backing track off and he would then sing live
I enjoyed it tho he looked a state
And that mad fan from the 02 press conference was in the crowd with a big scarf, bless

When does he do that exactly?
Watching it back, there is some MAJOR blurring of his face going on and he keeps covering it up or looking down, was he ASHAMED?
Oh he does it quite blatantly at the end of The Way You Make Me Feel, doesn't he?
MJ and Whitney were both blurred out to hide the BONES.
SOmething was deffo up with his mouth or something that time, cos like in the YRMW video he hid all his face, and it was fucking disracting the way he held the handheld and the madonna-mic over his face all the time

I always thought he had some nerves paralysed due to a botched surgery. It wasn't botox. Always thought around that time that he was having reconstructive nose surgery as it appeared bigger than before.
Anyway, MJ's FBI file has now been released. TMZ are leaking it in parts but so far it's all the exact same stuff we knew about as well as some loony stalker and death threat cases.
Poor MikeNo wonder he had trouble sleeping.
The Culture Show special was really quite good!
MOTIV8 VOCAL SLAM
Well that's true actually
I'd have loved some appreciation of HIStory, BOTDF and Invincible. Instead they did exactly what they'd promised they wouldn't and concentrated on all the tabloid shit.
The first half was really good though, I loved the appreciation for Shake Your Body![]()
MOTIV8 VOCAL SLAM
OMG yes, was it really the first song to have a remix??
Better than the BBC thing.
More of the Bad tour that I'd not seen before
Why can't THIS be on TV instead of MSG 2001? Best thing EVER.

A snippet of the MJ & Lenny Kravitz song 'Another Day' has leaked. I hope that rap shit at the start has been added on. I was looking forward to hearing this for years and now I realise it's just 'Storm' from the Baptizm album, only better.

I think the talking/(c)rap is just from some radio station that leaked it, so at least that's a bit of good news.
I NEVER GET why this stuff doesn't make the albums. It's better than Unbreakable, Heartbreaker, Invincible and the shitty ballads like You Are My Life. It's weird. My all time favourite Jackson 5 song 'Love Is The Thing You Need' was an album reject discarded in favour of some utter shit.

Yes I'm 100% sure it is as well, they love talking all over exclusives...
It's definitely not better than Unbreakable!! But it's pretty damn great. Are they releasing it as a single?
Do you know if the rumour about the Invincible album is true? That they recorded about 100 songs or so?
He used to say that for every album after Thriller. I don't know if he actually recorded the songs. I think he probably meant there were over 100 he wrote and were submitted. I doubt all of them were fully produced, got past demo form or were even recorded at all.
Oh. That's a shame. I'd like to think that somewhere out there, there's a hidden dungeon (Indiana Jones style) with 100s of demos and finished songs...
This needs to be released... It's amazing...
Better version with no twats shouting over it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuV6a8Vg3os
Thank you Ellie![]()
