swedish Hanna Hedlund - Anropar Försvunnen

The slightly less fabulous Hedlund sister scored a big Swedish hit with this quirky entry, despite only coming 8th in the 2000 contest. What do you think of it?

The lyrics are supposedly inspired by David Bowie's "Ground Control to Mr Tom".

I will never tire of the way the Swedes say "Hallå".

I love the way she rolls her RRR's too. I bet she's a right dirt.

There's nothing dirty about rolling your R's...

Where in Sweden do they do that the most?

    A normal person must
    Dismiss you with disgust
And weep for those who trusted you.

I think Arrrja, albeit or even because she's Finnish, is quite good at it. So I'd say the further OOP NORTH the more they roll the r.

On the westcoast. People from Göteborg are the kings of rolling R's.

Do we know that she's actually got two kids with Martin Stenmarck (who's last two album have been on constant repeat over here these past few days)?

And yes, the entrance is hilariously tacky, just like the rest of the song but for those reasons I like it.

2000 was a brilliant MF year. Pontare, that EPIC old-skool schlager by Friends and an interval act that was SO good that people actually forgot to vote.

Yes she released an album of songs for (or about, I couldn't tell) her kids recently. It looked quite boring. Middle of the road noodlings are NOT what the Hedlund sisters are about!

The lyrics to Anropar Forsvunnen are so fantastically wacky.

    Hello hello
    This is XX2
    I'm searching for you
I'm calling to the missing Astronauts
    Hello Hello
    Show me that you exist
I know that you can hear me
I'm calling to the missing astonauts

Would have been an amazingly odd followup to Charlotte's winner.

Although the Tommy Tycker Om Mig bit might have gone over people's heads a bit.

I still don't entirely get it to be honest. I know who Tommy Körberg is but what does he have to do with a song about aliens and spaceships?

A couple years ago my car was broken into and my mp3 player stolen, and I was flying on a redeye flight the next day. My boyfriend got me the flat 3rd gen nano to take with me on my trip and I only had time to add a few albums before I left. Hence I listened to "Nio Sanningar och en Lögn" for eight hours straight from LAX to Ft. Lauderdale. I know every song by heart and still never get tired of them.

Was that the all-star MF highlights thing, or some other amazing interval act?

Who's up for Moopyfestivalen 2000? There are some schlager corkers in there in addition to those named above, namely Vi Lever Här, Vi Lever Nu, Se Mig from Barbados, Alla Änglar Sjunger and Varje Timma, Var Minut

Yes I know the Carola song obviously! I just don't know what it has to do with Hanna's!

Are they saying Göteborrrrrj then or what? You didn't talk enough Swedish last year in Stockholm. (Or maybe i was just a bit too drunk to actually notice it)

That's exactly how they pronounce it. My accent is quite neutral these days. But when I'm drunk you can really tell where I'm from originally.

I'm all for it. But we should wait a little with it because I feel a bit of a voting vexation after 3 weeks of nonstop MF voting. Plus we'll have the ESC-voting coming up as well.

At some point aren't we going to do the all-time Moopyfestivalen from the 32-song era? i.e. 2002-2009?
