Yes I arrived around quarter to eight and it was very quiet then. It did fill up quite a bit and was respectable I thought, but not packed by the time they came on.

Amazing quote from the new American Dad episode

Roger (the alien): "I'm changing the name of this island to BANANARAMA, and your national anthem is, VENUS."

    Don't we all?

A second single from Viva is APPARENTLY being planned for FEBRUARY, according to the webmaster on the Nana website.

I am quite undecided about which would be the best single choice. Love Don't Live Here, The Runner, Dum Dum Boy and Seventeen are my favourites from the album, so any of those I'd be happy with. They apparently like Extraordinary so that may be in the running too.

7-4 to Viva, my favourite song from Viva though is 'The Sound Of Silence' oddly, closely followed by Love Comes, The Runner, Love Don't Live Here and Rapture.

    RAPTURE
    Frequency
    Feel For You
    TELL ME TOMORROW
    THE RUNNER
    I Love The Way

Pretty equal. I prefer 'Viva' as an album, but think 'Drama' has better high points.

Really into 'Tell Me Tomorrow' and 'The Runner'. The former reminds me of the feeling you get at the end of summer. No idea why though.

    ALBUM RANK

    1) Tell Me Tomorrow
    2) The Runner
    3) Dum Dum Boy
    4) We've Got The Night
    5) Love Comes
    6) Rapture
    7) Love Don't Live Here
    8) S-S-S Single Bed
    9) Seventeen
    10) Twisting
    11) Extraordinary

My bottom three just haven't clicked yet. No doubt they will though. It is such a good consistant album though. No need to skip anything.

I think I agree that it is more solid, though for me Viva also has two duds (S-S-S-Single Bed, We've Got The Night) to Drama's one (Middle of Nowhere).

I do like Tell Me Tomorrow, but I don't think the chorus is quite up there with the verses.

i never commented this, but i'm quite enjoying the album apart from single bed and the utterly random cover of rapture

my runaway early favourite is seventeen and i really love the album version of love comes with the extra lines

    yay!

    Is this album good then?

    Still not got it yet

Suppose it's worth it for "Love Comes"
Well you could always go for the obvious - black tights, white stilettos, PVC miniskirt and dance around your handbag which has in it a family size bottle of dandruff shampoo

That was the photocall for Women Of Rock.

The NANAS were ace at Women Of Rock, by the way. They did Robert De Niro's Waiting, Venus and Love In The First Degree and got the whole crowd dancing. It was with a live band (not their live band, but one that was used to back all the acts), which was quite fun.

Have only really heard 'Love Comes' recently.

I thought it was a continuation of the Pixie Lott album that was being played to me whilst on holiday. At first I didn't believe it was Bananarama and they were just taking the piss. Slowly I came round as I gradually recognised the vocals more and more.

Not bad considering I thought they were has beens.

And then they played 'The Runner'.

I then hyperventilated as I was missing the original TD's version from my music collection. *Rectifies asap*

They are also apparently going on some kind of Chicago Rock Cafe tour to promote the next single.

When David Van Day and Sarah Cawood are your STARRY talking heads, you must be in trouble.

CUNTY DVD's line about seeing them every three years in the Sunday supplements talking about how they've been living in the country did raise a brief guilty chuckle.

I can't see any mention of the shows on their website now, so they have presumably decided it was all a bit too much of an effort.

Their fourth comeback? Really? Surely only TWO count...and they've never actually SPLIT UP yet either.

I'm of a mind to send a STRONGLY WORDED MISSIVE to the BBC about that clip.

Not about the Nanas, Im sure they don't GIVE A SHIT really but the fact that they let DAVID VAN DAY go anywhere NEAR a position as a "voice of reason"

    I DON'T THINK SO

And COUNT ME IN if they ever do another tour. They were fabulous when I saw them on that 80s revival thing back in the day, with Culture Club and Queen Belinda.
