Oh right, so at least they arent dropping off? I didn't even think they were near the top 75 to be honest.
It's the one you have all been waiting for...
ANGELA AND FRIENDS
Ouch.
I am sure they will make a very good living doing shows and the 80s tours etc but they really arent going to get many more chances for mainstream success are they?
I wouldn't have thought so no.
I'm not sure on the back of Love Don't Live Here going 114 with a bullet, even Nana fan club president Pete Lorraine will be able to justify keeping the girls on.
I guess it depends if they can be bothered to do it on their own on a small scale - something tells me not, but they have said that they were going to release the album that became Viva on their own via the internet before Fascination got involved, so who knows...
Even with a major record label, this all seemed quite small scale to me anyway
*sigh*
Not ONE TV performance to go with this release..
Love Don't Live Here was definitely on a tight budget. No proper remix package, a budget video, single sleeves done by their webmaster etc.
It does seem strange that the only tv performance of LDLH was to plug the album about six months ago. With all the various interviews it seemed all that was shown was the shortest clip of the single amongst various eighties classics.
To be fair, the first video was on a higher budget and I'm amazed they even GOT to a second single after "Love Comes" flopped. To be fair, this wasn't THAT low rent since day one, but what record company is going to throw money at Bananarama in 2009/10?
I still think "Love Don't Live Here" should have been the first single and that they could also get at least an interview on the likes of Jonathan Ross. They don't do enough "live
promo or performances on tv but, again, where CAN they ? There isn't much beyond GMTV for an act like Bananarama. I still think even if they had done more, it wouldn't have gone much further than low top 40...
It's the truth, it's a fact, I was gone and now I'm BACK...
I'm not sure if Love Don't Live Here was done until after Love Comes had been selected for release. It was the last track they did I believe.
As for live performances, there aren't many tv shows where you can perform, though Loose Women on which they were interviewed does have performances sometimes I think.
I agree that more tv promo probably wouldn't have made that much difference. They are pretty much a fanbase-only purchase now, and they just about got away with it with Move In My Direction when nobody was buying physical singles.
I agree they wouldn't have done much better, low top 40 is the best they could have hoped for
'Loose Women' and 'Live at Studio Five' always have performances - I just thought it was a bit wierd they didn't. As has been said, most shows spent about 2 mins showing videos of the old 80's hits, and about 5 seconds of the new single.
I still think it's SHIT that Radio 2 airplay refuses to translate into downloads and you need Radio 1 airplay for the most part. If you ask me, "LDLH" at LEAST sounded FABULOUS on the radio and would have fitted RIGHT IN to the R1 playlist...if it weren't just SHIT RAP MUSIC ALL DAY LONG

I hear your voice, it's like an angel sighing...
I was a little shocked to come home today to find the expanded and remastered versions of 'Pop Life', 'Wow' and 'Please Yourself' waiting for meI'd only said I was going to buy one of the reissues when they came out ( too much cd buying guilt ) and had plumped for 'True Confessions'. Then I remembered being online after far too many vodkas on Saturday night. Someone should take my cards off me sometimes.

INVESTMENT PURCHASES, all

Did all those bouns tracks that came with the vinyl singles and covers that didn't get used for the album ever become available for download? Wouldn't mind buying some of them.
The Sound Of Silence is on iTunes. The other three covers were available to download only as part of album purchase bundles. Here Comes The Rain, the original b-side for Love Don't Live Here, is vinyl only.
There are other tracks IN THE CAN (Killer Queen has been mentioned in interviews and a demo CD with two other unreleased songs Supernature and Sorrow exists) but they haven't surfaced.

Topping up the Viva-hit fags n vodka fund with some eighties gigs then.
I would quite like to see them - if they announce anything in or very near London
I am still kicking myself for not going to that free gig they did in Highbury last year
Are they PROPER gigs or just part of an overall 80s line up?
Cause that Osborne House one will GO DOWN A TREAT if its the former...
