Any Crunchie that gets that close to Claire Richards is gonna get scoffed before anyone has the chance to consider other possible uses...

To answer the question, 16 if people are prepared to play the game and not post 18+ materials. It's up to yourselves to make sure the place isn't dodgy.

16+ without a doubt. Some may be more mature earlier than others but you can't discriminate.

I think 16 + as well but absolutely we need to raise the limit on sign up and add a disclaimer that some content may be inappropriate for minors.

I can't find Sophie ~Oohie~'s twisted online doll hospital

I did find her photobucket that has various doctor who pictures and photos of celebrities visiting ill kiddies though, but that's not as good -

Is she 16 yet? We should invite her back, she was easily one of my top 10 favourite posters.

Hmm interesting topic, gives me something else to look up an investigate!

At present we run with the COPPA scheme, the reason the age is set at 13 is because that's what the COPPA age is. There are no other schemes for older ages.

However I do think we ought to perhaps have a disclaimer for 16 and under. We can't stop people from lying, but at least we have tried.

Yes we do have it so they have to say they're over 13 at present!

Right, I just had a look around. The only age restriction Vbulletin supports is the COPPA one. The age of the COPPA registration can be changed by altering forum codes, but they don't advocate this and don't give any advise on the forums about how to do this.

A couple of other options we have.

    1. The welcome email new registrations recieve. Something could be put into this about the age suitability of this site
    2. A PM on registration, again with a similar message to above

For the purpose of this thread, I think that there should be some sort of disclaimer saying that the content on this site is not suitable for people under the age of 16.
Do you REMEMBER the mother who was pretending to be her 12 year old daughter and used to post disturbing diatribes about how said mother would beat her up?

    Update:

I may have found a way to alter the forum rules/terms and conditions on registration. I'll have a fiddle.

They're gonna read these things anyway, but atleast this website will look like its taking the proper steps by telling people on registration that its only suitable for 16 & over.

I really can't think why a 13 year old would want to post on a website with a bunch of 20 somethings.

Can we ban any posters over the age of 30?

I'm surprised they even know how to use the internet.
