    When The Wind Blows

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_th...(graphic_novel)

Anyone read this. Its come to mind after watching a documentary about the nuclear bomb I was just watching. Remember reading it as a kid and considering its the bod who does The Snowman, its QUITE DEPRESSING.

Summary is: doddery old couple in their house, build makeshift bomb shelter inside as instructed by radio when alerted to Soviet attack. Nearby gets hit by a blast... the rest of the novel is about them doddering about as they usually do, in a very British "we'll make do" fashion but gradually succumbing to radiation poisoning.

I just remember it being something that hits inside (which is rare for me), watching them potter about, making a cup of tea... then the wife figure ends up losing hair, vomiting and bleeding from the gums.

    No Aled Jones here.

I'd forgotten all about this - it was quite shocking to read.
