I guess DKR was good for the planes. I thought it was always obvious Mario Kart was the better game though.

I love both and I can't decide. Mariokart is great fun as a multiplayer but it handles like a bitch. Diddy Kong is much more vast and entertaining as a single player. Plus unlocking the hidden characters = COOL. But it doesn't have quite as much replay value.

MK64 all the way!
MK64, with all its glitches and slowdown issues, was AMAZE. It has probably aged a bit badly (haven't played it in probably 9 years) but some of the circuits are proper classics. DKR, as a 1p game had more meat to it and it had better graphics, but the weapons were WELL DULL and the game was HARD AS NAILS. I don't think I ever beat the last Wizpig race.
Diddy Kong 100%, it might actually be my favorite video game ever. I like Mario Kart 64 but it's the same thing each time you play it and quite one-dimensional, while there is so much more to unravel and discover in Diddy Kong Racing, whether it be more exciting levels, the coin challenges, the 'secret' space world, the battles etc. And as already pointed out , it's equally exciting (if not more so) to play it individually or with a group of people, as opposed to Mario Kart which I really only ever found fun with multiple players.
Those Winter levels are always an absolute joy
The big old walrus was always the easiest, softest of the bosses, bless.
This one always gave me a great deal of anxiety

I like Diddy Kong and all, but Mario Kart all the way for me. Amazing as a multiplayer, better weapons, better tracks, better characters. I played that game a ridiculous amount.
Actually, Mario Kart DS is fer sher the best in the series.

Mario Kart DS was spoiled by how how it is unplayable online due to all the cheating, snaking cheats.
MK64 is the best in the series and so far better than DKR it actually quite hurts.
MarioKart 64 is much much better, but I never really played Diddy Kong Racing as much.
