Praise totally reminds me of those Pure Moods albums you used to get, which I loved - the start of "chillout"

people used to mock that music until Cafe Del Mar came along and then by 1999 it was THE genre of choice...

And there's my first ever bought music (cassette-single) Change by Lisa Stansfield.
What's confusing? We just find the heart of the prison and the dragon who speaks without walls, and we're home free. Simple.

The year I really started to get into all that dance/rave stuff - at the tender age of 10!

Loved the KLF, Prodigy, Utah Saints (although their album didn't come out for a while after if I remember rightly), Moby, The Source etc

Enigma is a bit out of place as it is more chilled - still like it though!

And I can still remember pretty much all of Mr C's lines in Move any Mountain!

    "weeeeeeeeeeeeeell...."

I agree with everything in this post. It TRULY IS the best year for dance music.

But going through this fantastic list made feel a bit old though.

'Only You' is ridiculously beautiful and it's one of my most played songs on my iPod.
