    disco Dragon Fruit / Pitaya

    Has anyone else tried this?

I was gobsmacked when I open mine and it was bright purple!

Fathomed that once I cut it in half I could lever it out.

Taste wise, fine. Sort of a kiwi fruit feel about it. Expensive but very aesthetically pleasing.

Love the colour! The white version could be very boring and not even cause the same enthusiasm it did with the purple version.

*May hold a dinner party in honour of the purple pitaya*

I think they look really nice when I see them in the supermarket but I've never bought one.

I bloody heart dragon fruit. Sometimes eat them here despite the price and quality, but ate them daily in vietnam.

So THAT'S what they are... internal catering at work when you book a room send a fruit platter with the lunch. Considering how rubbish the sandwiches are, I always thought it was odd to see these weird speckly slices of fruit amongst the watermelons etc

They don't taste of much though, but I suppose I only had a few slices and they had been refridgerated recently

They're really dull tasting. Just no flavour whatsoever. We had a dragonfruit cocktail a few months ago.
NATURALLY I think I'm a nice person. But I make women uncomfortable because I have this unattainable body.

Well that's me and a pitaya you've not had yet then!

Perhaps we should do a threesome?

I'm assuming they must be more flavoursome grown locally? (Assumes South east Asia is where they come from).

I can't imagine them growing on trees, bushes, whatever...
